  • Hi all, I've been doing this for a while and can offer support if needed as well as needing support myself! Feel free to add me :)
  • I do refeed weeks based on Lyle Mcdonald's new research that a day isn't enough. I do a week at maintenance calories, its great for my moral, it also makes the weight start coming off again if it has slowed. I find after about a month of eating in deficit, I get extreme feelings of hunger that just don't seem to go away,…
  • Try a diet break, they do wonders. When you diet for a long time, glycogen stores depleat and leptin causes you to get hungry and weight loss to slow or stop. I always do a week of maintenance calories every 4-6 weeks. Search for refeeds in the my fitness pal forum and you'll find loads of information on it.
  • I make overnight oats with Skyr protein yogurt with a bit of coconut milk to loosen it up, then throw in a few blueberries. It's yummy and filling!
  • Yes, sorry, I'm really bad at explaining myself! thanks for clarifying
  • Yep, it says that you are given the plan of what to eat but with no calorie info, so doesn't actually help you maintain your weight after, meaning that he gets repeat business. It also mentions that the work outs that he has online are HIIT based which he seems to infer is how he looks as like he does, when in fact you…
  • Maybe watch this then decide? He makes some interesting points - https://youtu.be/pHxJqWfwz1M
  • Worked it out now, haha!
  • I can't work out how to add people, so please, all add me!
  • This has been a very interesting read, thanks for bumping it with your comment Enjcg5. It might be an old post but still very relevant. Where I live the main scam is Herbalife, everyone seems to be selling it, no one seems to keep their body shape after their 30 day transformation though! They're always back on another…
  • Syns are short for synergy, meaning that it's what stops the plan being a diet as it's not strictly saying cutting things out. Everything that is not free food (that you can eat as much as you want of) has to be weighed and counted. It's so you can still have things that you want each day such as wine, chocolate, crisps…
  • And I doesn't matter how many 'syns' something is. If you are under or even a bit over your calorie allowance you will lose weight. As long as the number of calories is less that the amount your body burns through just keeping you alive and then any extra exercise you do you will lose.
  • Hiya, I just 100% count calories using MFP now, no tracking syns etc. It's more important to me to know that I am eating the right balance of protein, carbs and fat and having the correct amount of calories. But I still use SW recipes as they are normally low calorie, I also still eat Sw ready meals from Iceland. Well done…
  • Hiya, I lost weight on Slimming World, become a target member and then become a Slimming World Consultant and truly believed that SW was the only way for people to lose weight. Since giving up my SW job due to a change in my full time job two years ago, I piled weight back on. I then tried to do SW online as I couldn't get…
  • I eat more on work out days - little bit more protein and carbs (normally a protein shake or bar and a couple of new potatoes with my salad or porridge for breakfast) before exercise and then more overall after exercise because I get really really hungry after! Im 5'2" female 60kg going by my BF scales I have 27% Body fat…
  • When maintaining on 2200- 2500 i don't eat back exercise calories (in case you were confused about the massive difference).
  • Hi All, great thread :) I'm 5'2" and 60kg I was maintaining on 2200 - 2500 cals but after my holiday and slight gain I'm cutting again on 1500 cals plus eating back exercise calories. For those who are eating low calories and not losing, you may be interested in researching about refeeds, I was in the same boat but did a…

  • Have a look at stuff by Lyle Macdonald, there are some good podcasts on you tube featuring him. It is all to do with how your body adapts and how the hormones change when you eat low calorie or low carb diets for a long time. He suggests that you need to refeed at maintenance or above for 2 - 10 days to get everything back…
  • as above, bump up your calories and lift heavy. I'd go for high protein and fat and reduce carbs.
  • Tiifu look up Joe Wicks 'The Body Coach' on you tube. He does 15-30 min home work out sessions that are very good, he shows you exactly what to do, they are mainly body weight excercises or some with minimal equipment such as dumb bells and resistance band.
  • If you have low B12 and possible pernicious anaemia your doctor needs to give you the shots ASAP. If left low for a long time it leads to nerve and brain damage. Check out the pernicious anaemia society website. If your body is unable to absorb B12 (pernicious anaemia) then you have to have the injections every 10-12 weeks…
