We just sent our first to college and I have an eleventh grader at home. I'm only now not crying about it every day! We are all extremely close and yes I miss her, but staring into the end of my 20-year "career" of raising them is what's getting to me. I'm going to need to join a lot of book clubs or something in two…

It's a great time to get healthy and fit when you are single. You are the only person you need to take care of. It gets more difficult to prioritize yourself once a spouse, kids, and two or more extended families are in the mix. When I was 26 I decided to work on me. I dieted and exercised and got down to my best shape. I…

Okay but you have to be funny sometimes for the sake of my feed.

I haven't been where you have but I wanted you to know I read this and felt bad about it. But I kind of understand it--people don't like change, even good change! Especially if they have things about themselves they should be working on--you are a symbol of their lack of success, and the way for them to feel better about…

Just start! Right now, even! Log what you are eating for a few days, without even trying to eat better. In a few days you will be motivated to get all those numbers the way you want them to look in your food diary. Good luck!

One of my favorite salads is lettuce, celery, chicken, and blue cheese dressing (I stretch it with yogurt or buttermilk) and hot sauce. Kinda gives you that buffalo wing flavor.

I occasionally wonder what photo could possibly used of me in an obituary if I die tomorrow. I try to stay behind the camera!

I get that. Since I've jumped back on the mfp wagon, I'm trying to accept that I'm just going to be hungry sometimes, and that it's okay. I mentally have to tell myself that it would take weeks to actually starve lol. I'm also trying not to eat until noon (just coffee/water) so I literally don't have as many hours to do…

I've seen this thread all of the *other* times I've joined mfp in the past five of six years, but I never commented. I'm hoping the bigger footprint I make on the site, the more I will feel the need to return daily! I'm 50 and have about 100 pounds to lose. I was so disappointed this morning to see that last week's two…

I would add a few spoons of cannellini beans--similar to the texture of the pierogi inside--or shelled edamame, for more of a contrast.

I really like koshary. There are a few different spellings but here is one. http://allrecipes.com/recipe/214832/koshary/

Sliced cucumber sprinkled with Tajin--this awesome citrus/salt/chili spice that we are hooked on!

My daughter and I really like this seedy oat cracker recipe from Bon Appetit: http://www.bonappetit.com/recipe/seedy-oat-crackers

Me too, please! In addition to the apple shaped body, I have a circle face. So many ladies on MFP seem to be about my weight but they have such beautiful slim faces in their profile pictures! I also feel like I have short T Rex arms, but I think it's because they have so much more body to reach around at the moment... :o

Grilled PBJ here. Just every once in a while. And since I saw it in Bon Appetit, I spread mayonnaise on the outside of the bread instead of butter for that and grilled cheese. My Dad's favorites were fried bologna sandwiches and fish cakes. Once in a while I get a hankering for those. And I'm a mixer. My favorite childhood…

Just a different idea here, which works for me. I stopped looking for inspiration and it made cooking easier for me! I asked everyone in the family for 5-10 favorite meals, added mine, and added a weekly dessert or baking project, and made a spreadsheet that repeats about every two to three months (depending on leftovers,…

50 year old here, just sent the first one to college last week. Thinking it's high time to take care of me now! Please add me

I would like to be 'friends' if only because your username is so clever!

50 this year also. And started BP meds. Used MFP before, too. Would love a 'mature' friend!
