Rundgrenrocks Week 2 PW 223 CW 224 Sigh. I know I’m doing mostly the right things so I’m trying not to let the number bother me.

@JillyBT we just got word that my girls’ university is going online as of Monday. I knew I shouldn’t have started enjoying that empty nest so much! (Just kidding! I’d rather have them home until this is over. I can get used to daily laundry again I guess!) @pacsnc6 you are in my prayers.

Hi team, I’ve been reading but haven’t had time to comment, sorry! My girls came home for spring break on Friday, and my birthday was Sunday. They brought bagels and coffee drinks for breakfast and we went out for pizza and then had ice cream cake for dinner. Yikes! It was nice though. Apparently their professors have been…

Rundgrenrocks Week 1 PW 223 CW 223 I’ll chalk it up as a win because we got Chinese food on Sunday and I made two other meals with the leftovers, so I imagine I’m holding on to a lot of salt! My water strategies are that I try to keep a glass or bottle everywhere (kitchen, car, upstairs), and sometimes I like to flavor it…

@Mrsbell8well I’m relieved to hear your mom is better. The hits just keep on coming for the sandwich h generation, huh? It sounds like you have a great team around you, that’s awesome. When we had my in laws with us, it was just us doing everything because my husband is essentially an only child (he had a brother who died…

@1theresamcvean my goodness, theresa, your family really has been through so much lately. I’m so sorry you have another loss. But 97 is what my late mother in law would have said was a “beautiful age”. God bless all of you. What a beautiful photo. I’m attaching one of my in-laws; we all loved it so much we had it put on…

Hi all and happy March! I’m Jenn, I’m just about 53, and I live in south northern Virginia (it makes sense if you live here). My husband works in DC for the Army staff (he is retired Army). My 18 and 20 year old daughters are both in college, also up in DC, so I’ve entered my second “semester” of empty nesting, but with…

Jennifer Rundgrenrocks Week 4 PW 223 CW 223 I’ll take it; two pounds for the month was my goal and I made it 😁
-
@tryingagain5 thanks for the book titles. Congratulations on 50 pounds lost! I lost two pounds this month, so I could be like you in two years if I can just keep it up. It was inspiring to hear from someone on the other side of that 50 pound loss! Thank you!

@sleepymom5 Pam, Legs Up The Wall is just a yoga pose that stretches the back. I had stopped doing it when we got wood floors last year but I had a duh moment the other day that I could unroll a yoga mat to lie on! It’s easy but hard to describe — I think if you google it you’ll see a picture. It kills for a minute or two…

Oh, I meant to ask—what is eating to scale? I’ve seen a couple of mentions of it and wondered.

Congrats to all of the winners this week. I don’t exactly get all the numbers yet but way to go! @phoebe112476 you have an amazing attitude about what is like a work travel nightmare. Hope that one restaurant meal was awesome! @tryingagain5 what are you currently reading? Some friends and I are thinking of starting a book…
-
@tryingagain5 i hope it works out with your car. It’s nice to have a trustworthy mechanic! @lennoncpa even though we like Sabra, there really is nothing to compare to homemade hummus! I love a salad with a pile of hummus in the middle. @Mrsbell8well hope you’re feeling all better by now! @ljdanny exciting news! Hope it all…

Rundgrenrocks Thursday, week 3 PW 224 CW 223 Yay! Now I’m where MFP thinks I am. 😜 Next goal, what the DMV thinks I weigh lol
-
@tryingagain5 woo hoo! @Mrsbell8well fantastic haircut! Love the glasses too! @sleepymom5 glad you’re home safe and sound Pam. Hope it went as well as it could. @Cafelelia the company I use sends me an email every Friday with a list of veggies to choose from, always seasonal. So right now it’s mostly root veggies and…
-
@Mrsbell8well have you read “Animal, Vegetable, Miracle” by Barbara Kingsolver? I thought it was fascinating and I always feel a twinge of guilt now when I grab a cucumber in the dead of winter! I haven’t made a total local/seasonal switch but it did convince me to join a farm co-op group. Hubby was complaining tonight…
-
@lennoncpa I have found tahini in the peanut butter aisle, the middle eastern or Asian foods sections, the health food areas, and even the olive and pickle aisles of my stores. It’s like they don’t know what to do with it! I’m lucky to have an international market where I can get it, too.
-
@Cafelelia your hubby’s valentine idea was so nice. Definitely a keeper! @hope002 you can totally wear any of those swimsuits but I thought the blue one was especially adorable. Have a great trip! @timibotkin I had a little laugh at your description of arguing right before your MRI. My husband and I do that a lot…

Weigh in Rundgrenrocks Week 2 PW: 224 CW: 224 Period due any moment so I’ll take it 🤪
-
@tryingagain5 hope your headache goes away soon.
-
@GingerPwr I wanted to let you know that just describing your struggle and triumph of the past couple of days inspired me to make more good than bad choices today! @xX_PhoenixRising_Xx and @lennoncpa, we are a hummus lovin’ household! Actually just one of my daughters and me. She’s a vegetarian and she makes fantastic…

My biggest stumbling block is interruptions—for example, a day like yesterday!—that throw me off track. Took hubby to urgent care yesterday. He has flu and pneumonia. So he’s home for three days at least. Thank goodness he was willing to go yesterday; sometimes he waits too long, gets way worse, and ends up in the hospital…

Happy weekend! I have to admit I get a little overwhelmed when I open this page up and see there are dozens of new posts. I’m still going back and forth to remember who everyone is! Everyone is doing great though. My girls are home from college this weekend so I made their two favorites last night (pizza for one, twice…

Rundgrenrocks Weigh in day: Thursday Week 1 PW: 225 CW: 224 Been getting my steps in and started short exercise sessions again. I just have to remember to do them first thing in the morning, otherwise I forget.

Hi everyone! I finally read through the whole thread and am getting to know the awesome members of this team a little better! My problem is that my husband "borrows" my iPad at night and on weekends, and I can't navigate as well on my phone. So I get caught up when he's at work. I haven't had good answer to either of the…

Hi all! I’m flipping between the Puppy Bowl and the Super Bowl pregame right now. I’m not into football at all but info like to watch the commercials and halftime show and the stories about the players. 😁 I’m just learning names so forgive me for the general posts for a little while. I am having fun reading all about you…

Hi again! My name is Jenn, I’m almost 53, and I live in northern Virginia. I used to teach high school math but haven’t done so in years, except to tutor my friends’ kids. I’m a new empty nester and I really need to build a new set of healthy routines that I can stick to even when the kids are home, or hubby wants to eat…
-
Hi everyone! I’m looking forward to getting to ‘know’ you all in the next few days by going through this chat, and I hope to be an asset to the team 😊! My name is Jenn (or Jennifer, but definitely not Jenny!) and I live in Northern Virginia. My husband is retired Army and now works as a civilian for the Army Staff in DC.…

Just finished a short series called “Dr Death”. I barely remembered I was walking, it was so riveting. Definitely a motivation to stay healthy. If you don’t mind salty language, “By The Book” is funny. The two women hosts live by a different self help book in each episode. “Disgraceland” is one about music that I like. I’d…
