Just a quick check in today. It has been a crazy day & it was my first time as a mod posting the weekly results (it was not easy!). Everything was on track but I was fighting off that cold my son had, so while I was on track with calories, I just felt like toast & other carbs. I did a lot of meal cooking and prep today, so we are set for the week.
We did great this week! Congrats to @amsandos, @kirsten11872 and @nstephenson01!!
For this week's step challenge, I need Tuesday, Friday and Saturday from @JTBilly. I will post the results tomorrow when I get those steps!

@sleepymom5
I did like the videos. The 15 minutes went by pretty quickly, that's why I did it twice. I'll have to try one of the others sometime. Looks like there are many to choose from.
I'm glad the iron pills are working too. It will be interesting to see what the bloodwork shows. I'm not sure if I"ll know why I became anemic. One of the many questions I have for my doctor. If I don't have to go in for a follow up appointment, I'll have to message him my many questions. I'm not in menopause yet. My doctors say I'm in perimenopause.
I did enjoy my weekend, it's too bad they go by so quickly.2 -
You guys I'm sorry for posting my weigh in late!!

Sunday 2/9 check in
Food: logged and on track
Water: 48 hours
Exercise: 30 minutes (did the Leslie Sansone video twice). Also shoveled about 3 or 4 inches of snow
3 -
Monday 10 Feb check in
Food: logged and under (for now)
Water: 3+ litres
Exercise: 30 mins spin bike
Steps: 9000
I'm just playing with my calorie goal a bit and seeing how I feel - I changed my goal from losing 500 grams per week to losing 1kg per week, and I'm tracking my exercise calories with my Galaxy watch so they're pretty accurate and I can eat them back (unlike MFP's wild overestimations.) But today I'm quite hungry and I have 100 calories left... I'm also still really tired, and I'm not pushing it with more exercise. I did my workout at 5.30am this morning before work. The thing with having my gym setup in my garage is that it's right there and I can always use it, but coming from a place where I was obsessed with calorie counting and exercise a few years back, I've had to learn when not to push it.
@sleepymom5 It looks like you've had a good time with your sons, and made some good choices. With my pain - yes certain things are more likely to set it off. Anything that puts pressure or thumping through my body is bad. So running, lifting, even walking fast or uphill can be a problem. Spin bike is usually fine because I can control the tension, and cycling outside has been okay, but I have walked up a few of the steeper hills.
@Mrsbell8well Recovery is really important - and it's really hard to go from being active to forced recovery. I'm sending some extra love and positivity your way.
@lennoncpa Nice compromise on the snack. I love to eat raw veggies too, and I actually made hummus recently. Hummus isn't my fave, but it's not too bad when I make it lol
@CassieGetsFit2013 I used to find all sorts of exercise programs online to do, 7 minutes sounds like a fab way to get a routine going!
@tryingagain5 I used to be anemic, iron pills definitely helped. I don't eat much meat so I'm careful to try and get iron from other sources, although with how tired I've been I wonder if I should get checked again. I've heard good things about the Leslie Sansone videos but I've never tried one. Then again, we don't get snow here so I can usually head outside to walk! I don't think I'd be keen in your weather!

Good morning everyone and Happy Monday! We got some crazy icy, slushy weather overnight. Yesterday was a busy one and it was a rest day in terms of exercise. I am doing some IF and playing around a bit with it to see what feels best. I have to run and hope that everybody is doing well!
@brown6267 - Looks like you had a much needed rest day with your steps!
@xX_PhoenixRising_Xx - Great day yesterday and it looks like you are finding your balance. When you have that hunger, even with some calories left, sometimes it is good to wait and have some water to see if it persists or not. I am trying more and more to rely on hunger cues rather than just calories, and it can be tricky.
@tryingagain5 - Great day yesterday! Shoveling snow can be a chore, but at least you get some calorie burn from that!
@jmilner89 - thanks for letting us know your weight. Next time, just post or message me or @sleepymom5 that you will be late. The spreadsheet for the previous week close on Sunday morning so that the winners can be calculated. So just let us know before then.2 -

Sunday 2/9 check in
Food:not logged and over
Water: 64 oz
Exercise: 30 minutes walk, the very minimum PT,Stretching and strength.
Not a good day yesterday. I am not going to go into it. I am having too many of these. I also found out a good friend of mine passed this am. We have been friends since the 3rd grade. She was only 53 but has had multiple strokes in the past that left her very disabled. I knew this was going to happen eventually but it doesn't make it any easier. For those who have been with me, this is the friend we went to visit last spring.
Lot's of cheering to do today!
Wtg Team Weight No More-2nd place for going green!! Also 2nd place overall for lbs lost!
Also congrats to @amsandos, @kirsten11872 and @nstephenson01 for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place on our team!!
@CassieGetsFit2013 TOM can be a PIA. I am sure that can explain the gain. I love the idea of the 7 min workouts. What a great plan to get exercise in! Is it cardio, strength or both?
@tryingagain5 Good check in for Sunday! A work out plus shoveling is a double workout too! Great job!
@jmilner Looks like you had a maintain for last week. How are things going?
@xX_PhoenixRising_Xx I just can't wrap my head around all the calories and burns. You have helped me set my calories in the past but I don't know why I have such a mental block with this. All of that to tell you that I think it is awesome how you can calculate it all out. I am glad that you know where to draw the line too.
@jedaschultz Nice loss!

Day 9 - February 10th. Here we go. Another week is up and ready to fight for space.
What is your biggest stumbling block?
Here is the link-
https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10783307/leaping-groundhogs-the-02-2020-questions-challenge#latest
This is easy-myself! I just get in my own way...However, I am working on changing that.1 -
My biggest stumbling block is interruptions—for example, a day like yesterday!—that throw me off track.
Took hubby to urgent care yesterday. He has flu and pneumonia. So he’s home for three days at least. Thank goodness he was willing to go yesterday; sometimes he waits too long, gets way worse, and ends up in the hospital for a few days (because of his kidney transplant). Yesterday was still a long day, first at urgent care and then the pharmacy, then getting hubby settled, so I gave in, ate junk, and enjoyed the oscars.
My daughters were home for the weekend—they go to college in Washington DC, where hubby also works, so he brings them home on fridays and takes them back on mondays when they feel like coming home. It was great to have them here but that means I had to get them back up to DC this morning. That kind of driving is not my favorite (although I didn’t take them all the way up; they caught the Metro south of DC), but I made it okay. But those hours in the car have put me behind in my steps today so I have to catch up the rest of the day to keep up with my step bet.
This is a constant with me. I get an exercise and meal routine that works, and something (not necessarily huge) happens to throw it off, and I just crumple up in defeat. That’s one reason why I continue to do Step Bets. They keep me moving because I don’t want to lose that money! I haven’t found anything else nearly as motivating.
My period is due this week too and already here on Monday I’m bracing myself for a bad weigh in on Thursday. Which is a quick slide into mental permission to eat badly until then. I’m hoping my new desire to be an asset to this team will win out while I’m making decisions this week!5 -
Hello & Happy Monday! It is going to rain today & tomorrow, but at least it is not cold.
I am feeling really good! I was very happy with my weigh-in on Saturday & continued with my plan all weekend! I worked out Saturday & Sunday. I was really good at the hockey game on Saturday. I stuck to my plan, ate lightly all day and had a chicken wrap at the game & 2 cocktails. They actually had a cocktail mix called Splash, they had 3 different flavors, I had the margarita, only 25 calories. We did get popcorn, but I tried not to eat too much, the hubby ate most of it.
The true test of my weekend is the scale on Monday. I was up less than a pound, so I am very happy with that! I am in the zone right now & feel like I am going to have another successful week! It helps that I do not have to try to lose 3-4 pounds from the weekend. I will workout when I get home, I have my dinner planned already, I have a chopped salad and a California roll.
I have another hockey game tomorrow night, that will be my rest day, but I usually get in a lot of steps walking around the arena, which helps. I will probably eat before the game or get the wrap again. I should be able to stay on plan the rest of the week with no issues!
@sleepymom5 so sorry about the loss of your friend, so young! Glad you have enjoyed spending time with your boys! It is nice to spend time together, especially as they get older!
@Mrsbell8well sorry you are feeling sad! Take it day by day so you can be back to 100%. It is hard when your life gets interrupted by things we cannot control! Hang in there!
@rundgrenrocks sorry your husband is not feeling well! Hope he gets better soon!
Hope you all have a wonderful week!5 -

@sleepymom5 I am so sorry to hear about your friend. I had a friend die of cancer just over a year ago, it's hard even when you know it's coming. Hugs.3

I was doing great till Saturday, when, once again, I drank too much which turned back into eating too much. Back on track Sunday, at least in that I didn't want to eat anything. But I also didn't feel well enough to exercise, so I just lounged around feeling like a big loser.
BUT... I didn't let that feeling lead me to making bad decisions about food. I've been smart so far today and have had plenty of water. I'm especially proud that when I went to the school cafeteria for lunch, I got a salad instead of a chicken sandwich and put some turkey on it I brought from home. I also stayed away from the sweet potato fries. So... yay me.
I'm going to grab some seaweed salad and some sushi for supper. It's curriculum night. Woop woop.
Someone in the forum asked if I'd been running long. Yes and no. I've been on again off again with running since about 2013. I got really into the Jeff Galloway injury free running programs - you can find 5k, 10k, half and full marathon training schedules online for free. My best was when I won my age group in a 5k in 2015. Injuries and bouts of depression/anxiety have derailed me from time to time, but I'm back in it for now.
Happy Monday! Stay strong!5 -

Overall a good week. I hit my exercise goal (although yesterday I shoveled snow instead of going for a run, meh) and I mainly hit my daily fruit goal. I had a two overeating days, and I'm still coming up short on my water intake, but I'm working on it!5 -
@xX_PhoenixRising_Xx I would love to try homemade hummus. I know there aren’t too many ingredients but I don’t think I have the right kind of blender. How do you make it?2

Monday 2/10 check in
Food: logged and on track
Water: 64 oz
Exercise: 30 minute session with my trainer
No OT today so I was in bed at my normal time. I woke up with a headache and a sore back today. Not sure why, guess I slept hard today.
I was supposed to go to my Bible study tonight but still had the headache after the gym so I had supper and then napped until it was time to go to work. Back is fine but still have a bit of a headache.2 -
@xX_PhoenixRising_Xx
The videos were nice. It was something different for me to do.
I don't really care for snow either but since I live in West Michigan I have to expect it. This year had been a pretty mild winter so far. Usually it snows a lot more so a minor storm every once in a while isn't so bad.1 -
@GingerPwr I wanted to let you know that just describing your struggle and triumph of the past couple of days inspired me to make more good than bad choices today!
@xX_PhoenixRising_Xx and @lennoncpa, we are a hummus lovin’ household! Actually just one of my daughters and me. She’s a vegetarian and she makes fantastic hummus and she left me a whole tub of it this weekend! We just have a regular blender, not one of those super powerful types, and we blend it a looong time. Now if I can just convince myself to eat it with veggies instead of tortilla chips!
@sleepymom5 I’m really sorry about your friend. There’s never a good time to lose someone you knew for so long. I am not enjoying being at that age where it’s not so rare to lose a friend or acquaintance anymore.

@tryingagain5 hope your headache goes away soon.0
-
@sleepymom5
So sorry about the loss of your friend.
Thanks, I've been trying to do better with my calorie goals and exercise more. Some days go better than others.
The snow wasn't too heavy but it still took me about 20 minutes to shovel it all.
@Cafelelia
I'm not sure how much of a calorie burn I get with shoveling the snow but I figure every time I'm moving is better than sitting.3 -
@lennoncpa It's in metric but that's the basic recipe. I just played with it until it tasted nice. 😄

@tryingagain5 I have actually never seen snow falling. I have seen snow a couple of times, but only a tiny amount. Barely enough to make a snowball!
Here's a photo from my walk the other evening - looking out to Rangitoto Island from the East Coast Bays in Auckland.

Its been a few days since I posted. Like many of the others on here, I am in the sandwich generation and last week my parents (who both have dementia) were calling me multiply times a day and I had to go to their house every day. I have care givers 24 hours a day so they can live their best lives and still go out and do things but when they start to argue because they each don't realize the others limitations it gets very difficult. This is not what I envisioned I would be doing once my son went away to college.

I haven't been able to sleep this last week or weekend, went back to meditation yesterday and today. One of the guides talked about whatever struggle you are going through you can breath thru it. The saying of the day was "I got this" I have been repeating that a lot today, and it makes me feel better.
@Mrsbell8well ....you got this! In a few weeks when you start to gain your strength back you will get back to your exercise. You Got this!
@sleepymom5 ....I am so sorry for your loss! Take the time you need

Yesterday was a turning point. Pam @sleepymom5 your words were very helpful. Thank you. And I’m really sorry to hear about your friend.
I woke up yesterday feeling a bit “bitchy”. Unfortunately I hurt Molly’s feelings. Skylynn has been leaving her room a mess. Then I end up cleaning it. New rule is that an adult needs to sign off before she leaves. Since I was out of it Molly cleared her. I snapped yesterday morning when it sunk in how messy her room was again. I had a “talk” with Molly about what was acceptable. She helped take care of me, old folks, pets and 3 grandkids this weekend. And having missed work to be with me last week left her behind with work issues. My words didn’t help. My mood didn’t get any better at the doctors. It was a follow up exam and very confusing. My doctor didn’t even want to see the incision. This was supposed to be a follow up from my blood tests as well. $30 to basically do nothing. I wasn’t happy. I have been happy with this doctor for many years. It was just an odd visit.
Once I got home I had more energy than I have in a while. I cleaned the fridge, did moms bills, cleaned the kitchen and dining room and doubled my steps. Over 3K now. Just looking for progress.
This morning my throat feels better too.
I need to find a way to get Molly month back up to speed as well.
Don’t worry I’m pacing myself and not overdoing anything.
Planning to take off the rest of February.
Drank 64 oz of water yesterday and ate well.
