@sleepymom5 & @kirsten11872 - Not sure if this will help you both, but my sister is also menopausal & says that she takes Dong Quai (a chinese herb, in a tablet) & her hot flushes disappear for most of the day. She's not a health nut at all, but she says it works for her - but everyone's different... if you are interested in it, obviously check with your doctor cuz some herbs interact with pharmacy meds etc...2 -

Hello & TGIF!!! It is another rainy day, but it is Friday, so I'm happy! The temps are supposed to drop 30 degrees from this afternoon to this evening. It is going to be in the high 50's this afternoon, then drop to the teens tonight. Looks like we may get snow, I hope not! I got my hubby a ticket package for the NJ Devils for Christmas, we got tickets to 4 games & they threw in an extra game right behind the goalie! Tomorrow night is our first game, I am excited, just hoping the weather holds up!
I am very proud of myself, yesterday went well! I ate very lightly during the day, then went for Hibachi for dinner. I did have 2 glasses of wine, but I ate about half of my dinner, brought the leftovers home for my younger son, he loves Hibachi! I didn't workout, but I did get in over 17k steps! The scale was up about .3 this morning, not much, might be from the salty food I ate.
I am on a roll! Planned for another successful day! Going to the gym tonight & will workout tomorrow morning before my WW meeting. I should see a decent loss at my weigh-in, I am hoping!
@rosieposiesrl thanks for the herb recommendation! Hot flashes are no fun! Glad the changes you made with your diet are helping!

I feel the fog of January lifting and I am finally getting into my groove. So happy that we took that vacation as it really helped a lot. My little guy is still sick today but he is on the mend. I am fighting off whatever he has and really don’t want to get sick. We got a big dump of snow overnight, but they are predicting rain on Monday and warmer temperatures for a few days.

@hope002 - Thank you for answering my questions. IF is an area that I am reading a lot about and I find the medical research fascinating in particular. Two more questions. What would you say are you most reliable resources for IF (eg books, articles etc)? For OMAD, do you count calories, and if so, are you eating a full days’ calories in one meal?
@kirsten11872 - Aside from those occasional hot flashes, I am loving menopause, believe it or not. It feels kinds of liberating!

@cafelelia I watched most of Dr Fung's videos about IF, diabetes, obesity. I also like Dr Eric Berg's videos. They are short and cover one topic. I just search Dr Berg and my area of concern on YouTube and most of the time he has a video about it.
When eating OMAD, I logged a few times and I know I eat around 1400-1700 calories. More if I have dessert 🍰🍰😊2 -
Had off school today because yesterday's storms left lots of roads flooded. Just finished the 2nd run on my couch to 10k app. Now I'm going to find a couple extra fitness blender workouts before heading to the store.

I don't want to lose all my responses so this will be quick. Food was good. I drank too much again but better than Wed. I also ate when I got home. I was hungry but I didn't make good choices. Today I am working out, eating light and having lots of water. Thank goodness I don't have to walk Charlie today, did I mention it was windy

@kirsten11872 You are on a roll! Keep it going! We are having crazy weather today and then the temp is supposed to drop. Just weird. Thank you for your response. It is just so different than what I have been experiencing the past few years lol!
@hope002 I am sure that is muscle, you are clearly losing fat. I am glad you mentioned about not thinking about food, that was my next question. Lol! Thanks for the info on the body fat calculator, I will have to check that out. Thanks for also posting the pics with you vs internet of what the percentage looks like. It is a good reminder.
@tryingagain5 I was going to comment yesterday that you would probably end up doing the OT but then decided not to Lol! You do OT a lot but I can understand why. It is just a shame that it is nightshift OT and cuts into your sleep sometimes. Glad you were able to get a nap in before you went in yesterday. Just a thought, maybe on days you want to work out but your schedule doesn't allow you to get to the gym, maybe you can do a leslie sansone walking video or something like that. You can do a 15 min mile one or longer. You can find them on Youtube. I think you do well with exercise but just wanted to put that out there if you felt you needed something on days you can't get to the gym. I am glad to hear your Dad's cat scan was good. Maybe he was dehydrated or his bp was low and that is what caused it. Hopefully it was something minor that won't happen again.
@ljdanny Hey, the scale is going in the right direction, that is a plus! Hope the shots work for you but surgery may be the answer if it doesn't. I can understand why it would be scary though. Just remember the surgeons do it almost everyday and you'll be in good hands.
@starcrystal3 I read The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. It was for a beach bookclub that never happened Lol! At least I got to read a good book!
@GingerPwr I know that is probably not a number you wanted to see but that isn't bad, you will turn it around. Sounds like you are off to a good start today!

I came across a few old photos today. There aren’t that many photos over the few months before I started in MFP. I never saw myself this way at that time, but today I can hardly recognize myself. I took a photo today for comparison. I have been normal BMI for a few weeks. What a difference!
Recently I have really struggled with hunger, but it seems better in slightly more calories. And I still lost 2-3 pounds the last few days so maybe I was just in too big a deficit. Will have to see how it evens out in the next few weeks. Have a great day. Remember - consistency and small changes result in big success over time!13 -
@sleepymom5 it is so windy here as well! We are on the same coast, not too far from each other, I guess it makes sense we are experiencing similar weather!
