Exactly. I stopped 4 years ago cold turkey, easy as pie. It helped that I build up a dislike for smoke - the stink, the fact that the more I smoke, the less buzz I'm feeling, weak stamina, awful after taste. No withdrawals at all. Good riddance! I get buzz of of not smoking.

I once hit 50k, it took from morning to midnight, not constant walk but mostly walking.

It's because you have alot of weight to lose, I know because I was 300 and went down 50 and it didn't seem like I lost at all though the measuring tape said otherwise. It was only when I went below obesity was when I noticed dramatic difference even when I only lost ten pounds.

I just kept running and my shin thickens and adapted to the run. Running activates the shin and just like when you activate any muscle group, you will get sore or some type of muscle discomfort in the beginning when you're adapting to the new load.

Yeah I can relate, I used to be like that a year ago then I realized if anyone needed the gym and belong there, it was the weak out of shape guy, Not the guy who had all the muscles. 10 mph for 20 minutes is 6 minute per mile pace. That's a sub-20 minutes 5k. Bravo.

Got 15k for the first day jogging 3 miles and walking a mile to my jogging route and back plus 4k of random walking and activity throughout the day. I doubt I'll get to 20k, will probably hit it sometime this week though.
