Joined a gym for the first time in my life two days ago, just did my first squat and deadlift using a squat rack today, though I had to figure out how to use it first.

5'8' and 185, which is overweight and I've been told I'm in good shape by males and females at work, I've never heard thin though.
-
Damn, good job.

For the past two weeks, I've done one pull up during work on upper body day whenever I pass by the monkey bars at the playground, that is usually enough to have me sore for days lol.

If you have a healthy fit body, it's your choice to make the world better, but it would be alot more difficult if you were out of shape.

it doesn't matter, your weight doesn't define who you are, whoever accepts you as you are and does not mind the lower weight you in the future is probably a keeper lol. And anyone on a quest for health improvement or maintaining it is definitely worth getting to know, embrace who you are now. Good luck.

I'd just eat one 1200 and digest it throughout the day instead of three 400 calorie meals that have you hungry and thinking of food and your next "small'' meal.
-
I did a pull up, I'm never that person who can even do one, now I wonder if I can train myself to do ten soon.

Went from 40 minutes to 27 minutes in under a year by losing weight, increasing the number of running steps per minute and just lifting weights, building a very fit lower body and core will benefit you greatly, highly recommend doing sidebends with dumbbells, it will make your obliques strong.

Have you ever push up on a scale just to see how much weight is straining your joints? I have and it's approximately 60-70% of my bodyweight, someone like a 350 pound person will be pushing up around 150+ pounds worth of weight, would you recommend someone to start bench presing at 150 with no bass of fitness? It would…

Doing anything workout beyond your fitness level will make you feel that way.

You can lift weights, I enjoy doing it, I've done it for about a year now and haven't taken a week off yet.

I find belly fat to be of no consequences, female or male, unless it was drooping down your crotch.

Your body has adapted as it should and your fitness level is higher than before so You shouldn't be perpetually sore forever, and you shouldn't seek it out unless you want to stop running for awhile.
