Yes you will need extensive urinalyisis panel by your doctor. Diabetes that is not controlled can give you a higher protein reading in urine.

I know several people who did this surgery and there have been issues that have crept into their lives. This surgery causes lack of serious nutrients being absorbed and don't make me mention hair loss on several of them with bald spots! Be grateful because you can lose weight at a healthy rate and absorb nutrients.…

Stay with it and do the best you can at this moment. Maybe review yourself objectively as to possibly....maybe.....how come you may be scared to coming to the end of this road and starting down another.....just a thought o:)

I would start at the body scan cal amount and see how you do. Reduce if you need to as you go along but 1320 may be fine if you are not a slug :D

Maybe joining a group....helping out in a homeless shelter or kitchen. Donating time in an animal shelter. Not every day but it seems that helping others benefits the spirit.... best medicine ever!

Sat.and sunday I only eat 2 meals instead of 3 during the week. I eat late in the morning and have dinner no later than 6:00 on weekends. Feels like I'm getting more. I do leave room for a snack at night though. Change up mealtimes on the weekend.

I am a type 1 and I use the same recipes as everyone else and portion is key. No special recipes. What I do avoid is recipes that have a high sugar content. Anything with sugar sauces or the such. Nothing special but I do know what makes my sugar soar.....devil pizza!!!

I have a black mark on my glass for 5oz of red at 125 cal. My bank cannot afford more so I made a conscious effort to stop all together cause 5oz would never be enough. Its hard to not drink but its hard to be fat....pick your hard!

I totally agree....he should be asleep and so should you. Eating in place of sleeping is not a good habit to instill. Kitchen should be closed well before bedtime!

Sugar free red vines! 3 are 70 cal and if a little hard is best! Takes longer to eat! :D

Being able to sit into airline seats and not pouring into someone elses seat. Long flights are not as tortuous. Also seeing the seat belt strap with lots left over. Yea!!!

You are a nurse so you know the doctor has to let you know not only benefits but risks too of any procedure. Its up to you to weigh them both out.

Yes....anesthesia is a risk but surgery is a risk for anybody. I thought bariatric sx has prerequisites prior to sx. You must lose first a certain percentage of total weight because after sx you will be on a specific program. Get all your facts straight before you make your decision.
