Yes!! Keep doing what you're doing!! I wish more women would! There's a woman at my gym, about my age, about my size, seems to be on a very similar journey. We do basically the same routine, she wears a lot of work out gear that I have. I think it's super cool to find another person like me. So last week she was doing a…

The dirty looks are reeeaaallll. I don't get the female hate at all. At my very heaviest I never looked at another woman and hated her. Someone else's journey/body/business is not my business. And if you're a woman out there kicking butt, looking great, being smarter than me, whatever it may be....good on you! I want to…

So frustrating and childish. I hear a lot of whispers about my appearance now, mostly in a circle that I volunteer with. It makes me sad that adults will behave this way. It's like, I'm sorry that you're not putting in the time and effort to get results. You should not be mad at the people who do. I bust my butt every day…

Everything has been great except for the odd rude comment sometimes. They don't usually bother me, but sometimes they get under my skin. Most recently someone said "wow. You've lost a ton of weight recently" I told her it's been over the course of 9 months and thank you. She replied "well most of it must have been recent…

I am at 24 hour fitness. It's got everything I need. Our home club is considered a super sport location, I think because it has a pool and basketball court. They've got plenty of machine for cardio, lots of different weights, free weights, machines ect...they have a trx system and lots of kettle bells, medicine balls…

One meal will not sabotage you! Log it and move on, vowing to make better choices. Maybe order that breakfast next time, and only eat half. Think about what you like about it (or any overly indulgent meal) and see if you can find a similar, lower calorie option. I have not been able to successfully go out to breakfast and…

This is exactly what happened to me. I focused on maintaining muscle during my weight loss. There was a point where my butt was gone haha! It looked totally flat and I was so discouraged. I kept at my plan, and my butt reappeared as I lost more weight. The muscle was there, it was just hiding under the fat. Now, I by no…

That's a great idea!! I'll admit, I was scared to drop the rate of loss. I was doing so well losing on 1lb per week, even 2lbs per week at the beginning. I thought that .5lb per week, with such a small margin of error, would derail me. I trusted the process and the advice on here and I feel great! Good luck! You've got…

I dropped to .5 pound per week when I was a little bit of the way in to the normal BMI range. 158lbs was the high end of normal, and I think I dropped to .5lb per week at 150. My ultimate goal is 135. I've got 7 pounds to go. I know I could set the goal to 1lb per week but it's not sustainable at this point. I figure the…

My kids got bored with sandwiches and I don't want them eating the nasty school lunches every day. I found these salad containers on Amazon. They pack a salad with a few veggies that they like, then there is an insert for the top of the container. We put some lunch meat, cheese, nuts. And then there's a little container…

So not exactly your situation but, I have three daughters and a husband. My husband and I are both logging our food, but as a bigger guy, he obviously gets more calories allotted to him than I would, and my kids are not on diets. I'm the cook, so I base dinners on what I will eat and build from there. I usually have a…

I committed to using my fitness pal, dieting and working out for one month. I got a package of sessions with a trainer to help point me in the right direction (I was clueless to all of it). I really was very unhappy with myself at the time and knew things needed to change. But I didn't really want to make the changes. So I…

I do about 10-20 minutes of cardio warm up and then 3 days a week I do circuit training. Two different circuits, each include an upper body, lower body and core work out. The other 2 days a week I do my cardio warm up and lifting (focusing on whatever I am leaving out of the circuits). I usually go a 6th day, and that is…

I personally go to the gym 6 days a week, occasionally 7. I have a routine that I follow for 6 days a week. If I go for the 7th it's generally because I want to bank some extra calories for a particularly high calorie weekend. That 7th day is never anything crazy, as it's supposed to be my rest day. I'll avoid the weights…

Buy a kitchen scale.....seriosuly eye opening for me. My portions were all out of whack before. It feels empowering to know what I am eating and how much. Make sure that you're following a diet and exercise plan that you can sustain forever...that was my "lightbulb" moment. I realized that fad dieting would never work. I…

As much wine as I can!

I'm pretty similar to this. No thyroid here. I've been on meds for 15 years and did not struggle with weight because of it. I gained and lost due to poor or healthy habits. I try to avoid gluten. I read that it can mess with thyroid (I was sure it was a bunch of woo, but tried it anyways). I can't say that it has made an…

I have to power through most of the cravings. I won't stop eating if I let myself start. I keep a few small pieces of chocolate in the house for when I really need a chocolate fix. I drink extra water and tea and just try to find something to do to stay busy. Or if I can, I sleep! Cramps have gotten better every months…

I stay out of it when I come across these situations. I only talk about what I am doing if someone directly asks me. It is frustrating to see friends buying in to fads or scams, but we have all done that at one point or another. All you can do is hope that they find something that works for them! I try to be a good…

90% of my cellulite went away as I lost weight. I still have a little on the backs of my thighs. I only have a few more pounds to lose, so I imagine that is there to stay.

I'm a morning person for a couple of reasons. I prefer to work out on an empty stomach. Not sure why, but I always feel like I'm a little sluggish with my workouts if I have eaten before hand. Plus I use my breakfast as my motivation haha. Get through this workout and your food is waiting at home! I will talk myself out of…

I bought 2 pairs of shorts. I have not worn shorts since I was a kid. I was always embarrassed by my flabby legs, even when I was younger and thin. I've been working hard in the gym and for the first time in my life I am not ashamed to wear shorts. I was showing my kids my purchases and they were shocked because they have…

Up at 6. Coffee while I make school lunches and get the kids moving. Drop everyone off around 7am and hit the gym. Home at 8:30 for breakfast and a cup of tea. Shower and get ready for work.

Ditched soda for water. Hard at first but easy now. Soda was a big calorie drain for me! Weighing all my food. It's second nature now. I skip fast food now. If I need a quick meal I will buy some precut veggies and a whole roasted chicken at the grocery store. I am mindful of the carbs I eat. I'm not keto or anything like…

So true!! I managed to find the balance but it definitely was not easy to learn how to do things the right way. It was an eye opener for sure. Very easy to see how so many people deprive themselves, struggle and then go right back to old habits. Fortunately for me, I do have a lot of discipline and once I learned…

I do a "cheat meal" once a week. I stay within my calories most times. Cheat for me means eating something that I have cut out of my regular day to day routine. It's usually some thing high carb and greasy, like pizza or a sub. And I also treat myself to dessert.

I had this issue as well. I did struggle to reach 1200 calories, sometimes. But it was because I removed all the high calorie "junk" from my diet and I was trying to replace it with veggies and chicken breasts. It took a while to learn the balance. Once I relearned how to eat and make wise food choices I had no problem…

I think there is something to it! I've been doing this whole calorie counting thing for about 8 months now. Yesterday was the first day where I realized that I was making healthier choices and eating smaller portions without even thinking about it. I feel like my whole mindset is finally catching up!

Get your thyroid levels checked out and take whatever meds the doctor suggests. I am hypothyroid (no thyroid due to radioactive iodine several years ago). I have no trouble losing weight, when I really try. Just don't give up!

I went slightly over and definitely ate more high sodium and heavier foods than usual. No big deal! Logged it all, saved enough leftovers for one more meal and then I'll move on! I was surprised that I was only up one pound this morning. I anticipated a much larger jump from water weight!
