  • Interesting! I'm the same way. We were super wound up after dinner and went to an axe throwing place Haha! And I slept terribly. Tossed and turned, hot and sweaty. I never connected it to diet, but looking back, those nights happen after a big meal!
  • I try to eat before we go to the airport. I travel to the east coast with three kids. I hate the idea of packing even more stuff, haha. So we eat a meal, buy lots of water once we are through security and the kids usually buy nuts or chips ect...i don't eat on the plane, other than whatever free snack they are serving. By…
  • You have to go with what motivates you and works for you. But I'll say this... I have never done ww. I've had great success with mfp. My friends doing ww always seem to be struggling, or they feel guilty using their points ect...they are not losing weight and feel bad about paying and trying to manipulate a point system to…
  • Kitchen for Sure! I could keep my food in control that way, and with lots of free time I could cook healthy meals. You can always find somewhere to workout, bring some dumbells, go for a run ect...
  • That's the weirdest part. I got over the guilt thing months ago and have a pretty healthy relationship with food. I felt zero guilt about that meal, which is probably why I allowed myself to go all in, rather than restricting here and there. I set out on a mission to eat a good amount of delicious food, without worrying…
  • I do it for both reasons. I generally feel better when I work out. I also enjoy it most of the time. There are days when I don't want to, but do it anyways. Those days are usually food motivated. Today I did not want to workout, it's my rest day (but I had skipped another day this week so I was using today as a make up of…
  • I just entered maintenance this weekend. I started my journey with no end goal number. I got to the top of the normal BMI range and was not happy so I kept going. At that point I reassed things every 5-10 pounds. I don't know where I fall on the BMI chart now, but I think it's in the middle. A few weeks ago I noticed that…
  • Congrats!! I just hit the bottom of what I want my maintenance range to be (135lbs to 140lbs). Starting on this maintenance journey today and more nervous than I thought I would be!
  • Time is probably the biggest one. Like all of us, I have a lot going on in my life. With three kids, a job, a husband and volunteer commitments I neglected myself for many years and it showed. I was over weight and unhappy. I decided to commit time every day to dedicate to myself. I get up and work out every morning.…
  • It can go up 2 or 3 pounds for me. But this month it has not gone up, which is new for me. My weight has stayed the same this week, give or take a few ounces. I don't think anything really helps. I do try to avoid salty foods and drink more water. I find my body really holds on to water during time of the month, so that…
  • Awesome job!! You should be very proud of yourself. I come from a family where heavy drinking has been the norm for as many generations back as I can remember. It's not an easy habit to kick! I was fortunate enough to only dabble in heavy drinking in my teens. Now it's just the occasional glass of wine. Keep up the great…
  • I'm currently on track, losing .5lb per week average. I eat 1430 calories per day, plus half of my exercise calories, usually another couple of hundred. I look at my exercise calories as more flexible. Some days I won't eat that back, but I am banking them for weekend indulgences!
  • I'm a big time evening snacker. I love it and can't relax and watch a show without something to munch on. I don't consider it cheating. I am always mindful to leave a couple hundred calories for my night snacks. I keep a range of snacks in various calories so I can almost always fit something in, even if I used most of my…
  • Yes the sizing is way off!! I can wear the same pair that I was wearing 78 pounds ago haha (tight back then and sort of loose now). I wear a small or medium in most brands but a large in ODODOS.
  • Victoria Sport are my number one brand. They are nice and thick, hold everything in and stay put. Also squat proof. It's a tie for second...i have a couple of pairs of Nike that I really like and a great pair of really thick Under Armour ones. I also have UA ones that I don't like, so I'm careful with that brand. Runner up…
  • I get it a lot. It's very odd to me! I don't say anything if it's not supportive or I wait until I'm directly asked a question. No one ever bothered to say "you're getting to fat" all those years that I was gaining...why do they feel the need to chime in now? I also get a lot of backhanded compliments. It's worth noting…
  • I aimed for the top of the normal BMI chart at first. Then when I reached that I saw that there was still work to do, so I readjusted to the middle of the normal range. I'm just about done losing. I think I am a little below the middle of the range now. Towards the end I stopped worrying about the BMI scale. It was a good…
  • I always do! Been this way forever. I try to just ride it out or else I know I'll eat every thing that is not nailed down. I make sure that what I an eating is filling, and that helps somewhat.
  • Mini goal is to get to 135lbs....only 2 pounds to go. The will officially mean that I am done with the weight loss portion! I set a maintenance range of 135-140! I'm losing slowly now and not really stressing so I don't know how long it will take. In my mind I am aiming for the end of June. Another mini goal for summer is…
  • This week I was accused of secretly having gastric bypass surgery. While I found the comment itself very rude, the fact that people see that much of a difference in how I look is pretty flattering, so I call that a win! It's hard to see the changes in myself, and I think most of us on here feel the same way. I see a small…
  • People don't want to admit that it's actually very simple to do! I hear all the time that it's too much work, they don't want to weigh foods, they don't want to look up entries on the app....i always tell them that most of us have our phones with us all the time and that after doing it for a weeks it becomes second nature.
  • If you can control it, it's fine. But you can easily undo all your hard work with a weekend binge! I have a "cheat meal" on Sundays. One meal and dessert. I go over my calories a bit but not enough to undo the week. And its enough to satisfy whatever I was craving all week. This works well for me! I look forward to my…
  • I get this a lot and feel strange commenting! Just as I don't love receiving all the unsolicited advice and comments, I don't love giving them! I usually just say "if I could do it, anyone can. If you want to try the app I used let me know. I'm happy to help you figure it out". If it's comments about workouts I usually say…
  • My workouts are probably considered moderalty intense 6 days per week. I try to take the 7th day off. Sometimes I still go to the gym but I'll just do some light cardio or a yoga class. At this point I really just listen to my body. Some weeks I feel like I need two rest days. Do whatever works for you!
  • Big hugs! It's the worst!! And I get bloated a few days before, the entire week of and when I ovulate. Currently have about 10 days per month when I see the scale go down. I know it's all normal and blah blah blah, but some times it's so frustrating!!
  • I've always had 25-28 day cycles. After about 40 pounds lost they started to come every 21 days. Have been that way every since. And they last 7 days. Lighter, less painful and more tolerable. But long and not far between. Doctor said it was fine. Said anything shorter than 21 days or a period longer than 7 days is an…
  • This is so true for me! And quite often I will visit a business once or twice and think it's amazing. Only after several visits do I realize that it's not up to par for whatever reason. Cleanliness being one of those things. We visit (or used to) a local ice cream shop. People are nice, service is good, I run in and out…
  • Social drinking. I love getting chatty with my friends over a few glasses of wine. I am good with logging my wine with dinner. I have my glass, sometimes two, and that's the end of it. And its not very often. Doesn't put me over my goals. But summer is coming up, which is my typical social time. I know I can still drink my…
  • I'm just barely 5'7", so I'll chime in! I'm currently 138 and pretty happy with how I am looking, but still have a little to lose. My initial goal was 135, and to set 135-140 as my maintenance range. I may shoot for 130. Not sure yet, but I will reassess when I hit 135. Realistically I was also pretty content with how I…
  • My mom told me I would become fat again if I continued to eat cookies every day (2 cookies, 150 calories total). She would not believe me when I told her I eat cookies or something sweet almost every single day. Then went in to a rant about my body hanging on to fat because I ate cookies. I asked her if the fat I lost was…
