Recommend the weight trending app Libra. Even if your weight is up and down, Libra shows you what the overall trend is and when you'll reach goal weight at your current rate of weight-loss.

Congrats!

Can you think of it as skill-sets? You're ahead of most people in that you know how to lose weight. You just don't know how to keep it off yet. I found it helpful to read the success forums and maintenance forums. This sounds like flip advice but I do understand how %$#@ hard this is. I felt the same desperation and…

Awesome pics!

I skip breakfast and split a supermarket pizza with my husband for dinner once or twice a month. It works out to 600 calories each. I add a glass of red wine and a big salad with full fat dressing. By only having lunch and dinner I'm still in calorie deficit. Re cravings, the hardest days were the first 3 months! Back…

I donated most of my 1x clothes. I've kept a few tops to adjust at goal weight, but there are big empty spaces in my cupboard! Feels weirdly unreal.

Yup. But they don't make you stand on a scale, TG.

The weight shown on my drivers license is no longer a lie!

@jesslla your post really spoke to me. I've been looking back trying to figure out why it took me so long to start a real weight loss journey like the one I'm on now. It was my perfectionism. I thought I had to diet a specific way which seemed to be some kind of clean-eating zealot plan! Of course I failed and usually…

I so understand! My personal take on those weight-loss comments is they were also noticing my weight gain and just didn't say anything about it. A memorable comment after a small weightloss: Years ago my mother was walking behind me and announced "Your bottom is a lot less wobbly". Good to know!

Sounds grim and unsustainable. I lose 2lb per week eating way more than that. Suffering does not burn more calories! Eat more - you're far more likely to stick to your eating plan long-term.
-
You look great!!!

Well done!!!

She wins who eats the most and loses.

I built a diet plan around my personal likes and dislikes. I didn't try and fit myself into some kind of 'healthy' plan.

1 I lost about 10 kilos in just over 3 months. I lost more than a kilo a week when I counted calories. I plateaued when I ate more than I should! I switched to maintenance mode over Xmas and the new year but am starting back on reduced calories this week. 2 I walk most days. Initially I would do it to earn calories for…

About 20 lbs in 3 months or so. Dropped bmi from obese to just fat! Woohoo!!!

You look wonderful! Congrats!!!

I've been on synthroid for years to treat hypothyroidism but I've never been told to avoid certain foods.

This is so inspiring - thank-you for posting it. I've learnt a few new things I can try. I just started a 30 day plank challenge for beginners. It starts with holding the plank for 10 seconds - even a slug like me can manage that!!! By the end of the month I should be doing a 90 second plank. Woohoo!

Congratulations!!!

I like the skinnytaste blog and cookbooks. Make the slow-cooker recipes so you only have to cook every few days!

You've got some great advice on this thread. I would just add that there is time to experiment with recipes and treats and eating schedules on your weight loss journey so you can incorporate the food you love. I'm writing this from McDonald's having just finished a cheeseburger and small fries. I skipped breakfast because…

I'll just repeat the advice I see most often on mfp... put your stats into mfp to get your calorie allowance and then stick to that calorie allowance. Accurately log all food eaten - I recommend weighing your food. You do not have to exercise to lose weight nor do you have to eat 'healthily.' You are far more likely to…

I found it easier to just save some calories for snacks, later - I sometimes have as much as 300 calories left for snacks. There is no rule that says you can't snack as long as you stay within your calorie limit. Dieting is about developing a personalised eating plan. Things to try: 1 Adjust your eating period and just…

Strong Curves has a bodyweight workout you can do at home. It's designed for women and the before vs after pics are staggering! You can buy the book on amazon or look it up via the search facility on the forums for the url to a free pdf.

Low fat salmon mousse. And 'aspic' - it's basically meat jelly. You could blend things to put in the meat jelly. It's the kind of recipe you get in 70s cookbooks but don't see that much, now. And what about hummus? I'd look for recipes for low fat dips and hot starters online. Yoghurt cheese. Lentil dip. Also, if you beat…

Peanut butter on toast and a latte works for me. What about leftovers from dinner? Leftover steak or chicken makes a nice fried rice dish. Use hoi sin sauce for flavour. You don't need special breakfast foods - any food you like will do. Even soup.

You don't need anything to get your metabolism going. Just put your stats into mfp, eat within your calorie allowance and you will lose weight. I'm 49 soon, have hypothyroidism, am insulin resistant, peri-menopausal and anemic but I'm losing weight steadily! I'm basically a lethargic glutton - mfp calorie counting works.

You've got great advice on this thread so I can only repeat: put your stats into mfp and eat within your calorie allowance. Get a food scale and weigh your food. If you buy items you can use the mfp barcode scanner to get the product calories - very convenient. Weight loss is about developing a personal eating plan so eat…
