I’m restarting after regaining and need external accountability to meet my weight loss goals. So I’ve joined one of the monthly challenges where you report in weekly, to get started. When I hit that goal at the end of the month I’ll buy myself a book - I’ve wish-listed a bunch. I’m hoping to just keep repeating that…

Happy birthday!!! :)

Fasting helps because it gives your body and blood-sugar management mechanisms a break - delay eating in the morning as long as you can so there’s a big gap between last nights dinner and today’s first meal. Alternatively, start the day with a protein powder drink mixed with water not milk - generally, it won’t increase…

You know you can do this because you did it once before! I’m back too after a regain.
-
It might help to experiment with your food - I can curb my hunger and food cravings by starting the day with 30g of protein (eggs and egg whites), keeping my carbs under 100g, and getting enough sleep.

I use a weight-trending app called Libra. It shows me that my over all trend is downward. Similarly, it's a warning to me if the trending arm points upward! It also has a cool feature showing when I'll reach goal weight based on my current weight trend.

Checking in... Starting: 95kg Current 94.9kg Mini goal: 90kg End goal: 73kg Up 0.2kg this week. I'm struggling to get into a reasonable-eating routine. Nighttime snacking is my kryptonite. This week I'm going to walk every day and do bodyweight exercises on Mon, Wed and Fri. I will keep 250 calories for evening snacks.…

Checking in... Starting: 95kg Current 94.7kg Mini goal: 90kg End goal: 73kg Down 0.3kg this week. V pleased! What helped: fish for dinner x3 to make up for calorie overages elsewhere, and knowing i'd be coming here on sunday to report in! 😁

It's never too late. And I say that as someone trying to lose the same weight I lost 2 years ago. And that loss just got me down into the overweight category. It's hard but the alternative to the battle is that my weight would just keep increasing. In a year, five years, a decade... immobility and terrible health issues.…

Well done! Awesome progress!

I also love sitting on couch, watching tv and snacking. I have found it impossible to eliminate so i just manage it instead. Some things that help me: saving calories for evening treats, finding calorie controlled things to buy at store (1 small bag sour cream n onion popcorn + mars bar + tiny jelly bean bag + a coke zero)…

At home, I just commit to doing 3 to 4 basic exercises a day and spread them through the day. So I'll do 3x10 incline press-ups on the stairs while going upstairs to get coffee. Another time i'll do 3x15 situps. And later, i do bridge or squats and/or deadlifts. Have some hand weights i use for some exercises. All of this…

Well done - you look great.

50lb down IS a success story! Well done! :)

Congrats. You look wonderful! :)

What keeps me coming back is the knowledge that if I give up I won't just stay a large. I'll become xl followed by xxl and then xxxl. We are overweight because we consistently eat excess calories. That doesn't stop without effort on our part. And it's that much harder to combat the health, mobility and social issues along…

Just want to wish you well.

I set a timer on my phone for an hour later. I tell myself that if I still want it in an hour when the timer goes off, I can have it. Generally the urge passes. Another thing that helps is to keep my daily carb consumption below 100g but be generous with fat consumption. My cravings are always worse when my carb…

You look great! So encouraging to hear how you did it, thank you!!!

Don't be ashamed. This is hard for all of us. I think you're great to keep trying. You just need to find what works for you. Weight management is an individual thing. Just keep trying different strategies e.g. a walk, lighter recipes for food you love, lower calorie takeout, a weightloss podcast etc. You sound as if you're…
