I was going to wait until I officially hit the 242.5 lb weight loss point to post an update so I could say "I'm half the man I used to be", but I couldn't help it. I've now lost 237 lbs and am under 250 lbs for the first time in over 25 years. Getting closer to my goal... Starting weight: 485 lbs Lost weight: 237 lbs…

Thank you all for the kind words. It means a lot! In response to a couple posts: - I'll make sure to smile in my next update  - I would change my username, but I had already changed it once so MFP won't allow me to change it again. Oh well.

I started off at 485 lbs and have lost 195 lbs in 15-ish months. I started off very slow and gradual. I set my weight loss goal to only 2 lbs per week which, at that weight, allowed me to still eat over 2800 calories a day. I don't follow any particular diet I just started incorporating a lot more vegetables into my diet.…

I was 485 lbs when I started my weight loss journey. Ive now lost 167 lbs. However I hate looking at myself in the mirror because I'm still fat, and I don't think I look any different than I did at 485.

Walden Farms is a brand that makes a lot of zero calorie items such as salad dressings and coffee creamers. I don't personally care for them but it might be worth giving a try.

I'm partial to a handful of diced mushroom, a handful of diced green pepper, 3 large handfuls of spinach, sauteed in a pan till soft with maybe an ounce of diced ham, then crack a couple eggs into it and scramble it all together. A hearty, filling breakfast for under 300 calories. Sometimes I'll crumble some feta cheese…

My fave is spicy Jambalaya with shrimp and turkey sausage. Riced cauliflower instead of rice. 268 calories for a hearty bowl.

If you're a pasta lover I suggest looking to see if your local grocery sells Shirataki Noodles. They're a bit more expensive than normal noodles, but at only 15 calories, 4 total carbs, and 3 fiber per serving they're a pretty excellent substitute for when you've got a noodle craving. They have a neutral flavor so they…

Yes! In fact starting on Wellbutrin was a huge catalyst to help me get started on changing my lifestyle. Whether a side-effect of the drug, or maybe just because I started feeling better, I'm not sure. But besides the appetite suppression effect of the drug, it really has helped me stay motivated to get healthy. I almost…

I had Roux-en-Y gastric bypass about 17 years ago. Lost 200 pounds the first year, kept most of it off pretty well for the first 10 years, then gained almost all of it back over the past 7 years. And now I'm having to work on losing it all over again. The best advice I can give is never stop following the program. This is…

Magnesium Citrate is what they give you before having any kind of gastrointestinal surgery to clean everything out. It tastes terrible, but one bottle of that and you'll be cleansed alright. And it's cheap, only a few dollars a bottle.
