Finished the half marathon and while my time didn't improve as much as I'd hoped for, I did meet my objectives which were to push myself, never stop and take no water during the race. Time was 2:20, was shooting for 2:10 or better. The race did kind of kick my butt, was so sore afterwards until I had a meal. Been splurging…

Gotta love those all time lows. Good for you.

Glad you found a system which works for you. I never heard of FAA before.

I used to not take the advice about stress very seriously, but the more I read and learn, it's a very real thing. Especially if it persists and is coupled with lack of sleep. The body doesn't like that and it can trigger the hunger hormone. Definitely something to try and stay on top of.

I've not been taking anything before a long run, typically I run long in the early morning so 12 or so hours after eating. I usually just drink a cup of water before heading out. All my long runs have been like this including 3 that were 13 miles. Once I tried this MCT powder stuff, and although I did feel some energy from…

172.8 this morning but that was after 6 miles on a treadmill, probably 2-3 pounds low. One week from now I'll be around mile 5 of 13.1 half marathon. Looking forward to it even though it probably going to be Temps in mid twenties which I really don't like to run in. But I'm doing it to put an exclamation mark on this year…

Maybe add a little exercise, or change up your diet try some new foods, not carby stuff though. Maybe throw in a fast day once just to shake things up. In reality you probably just need to be patient. The last bit doesn't come off anywhere near as fast. Bottom line just don't abandon ship, stay the course.

Good luck! It's important to know what it takes to maintain versus what it takes to lose.

Water can be huge. I lose 4 pounds when I run 10 miles or more and it takes a couple days for it to fully rebound.
-
For what its worth I found fasting every week for 48-72 hours and straight OMAD on the other days to take its toll. Got run down after awhile and I think undernourished. Personally I'd recommend it more like a once per month type of thing.

I love the carbonation so I'll have a San Pelligrino or La Croix sparkling water to get my fizzy fix.
-
Good good, you're in the zone now.
-
Great job. You just want to keep grinding out weeks similar to this last one.
-
174.4 this morning, a new low weight. Seems like my body is settled in to acceptance with this carnivore diet.
-
Rude scale.

Weighed in early Wednesday morning before heading out for a one day business trip. Away from home for the first time on my carnivore diet, Wednesday nights dinner I relaxed and had vegetables and a few appetizers in addition to the biggest steak they had on the menu. Didn't have a chance to weigh in Thursday morning but…

Nice!

Go for it! I like the idea of daily reporting in Sammy. When trying to lose it doesn't just happen automatically, we must stay focused and persistent and sometimes push ourselves a little.
-
Yeah that's why I avoid lunches, it's like priming the pump and then I have to remember to cut back a little at dinner, which is easier said than done. My lunch is coffee and easily gets me through. Nice job Bob on those 1 pound losses, they add up don't they?

Quite the inspiring transition that you've made Tracey. welcome to maintenance. *thunderous applause*
-
I meant how much is your target maintenance window shifting. As I recalled it was something like 125-128 but I wasn't sure.
-
Good luck. How big of a shift down is that for you?
-
Sorry about that. I've not had it myself, nor do I know anyone who has.

I've also used that method, it works well especially if you like the steak a little red or pink in the center. What I like about the slow oven cook is that I can get a nice even cook throughout before putting on the sear.

For me it's weigh every day, always. I'll never go back to what I call the "head in the sand mentality". I cooked a great ribeye last night. Seasoned with pepper and kosher salt, then baked for 1.5 hours at 250, then transfer to a hot pan for a 2-3 minute sear on each side. I used lard for the first time, man does that get…

Wow. We have both ends of the spectrum covered, I'm no plants and you're no animals!

Daily weigh ins are boring now, sometimes I almost forget to do them. When I was in weight loss mode it was like I bounded out of bed in the morning to check the scale for progress. Now my weight has stayed within a 1.5 pound range for 3 weeks. Not a complaint just miss that thrill of seeing the numbers go down. In a month…

Don't sweat it Tracey. The journey doesn't end. The body doest know or care about any timetable that we might set. It's good to have goals but the most important thing in my opinion is to never capitulate and go back to the old ways. I speak from experience having kept my head in the sand for years. You've got this and…

Big salad? Just like Elaine on Seinfeld. lol Nice job, your plan is still working well.

Down 30.5 pounds! awesomeness.
