I like to think of mine as a little chocolatey treat as well as an extra protein hot after strength training.

Night shift this week so squeezed in a weights session tonight. Bear complete - 12.5kg, 15kg, 17.5kg & 20kg x7 reps! 20kg been my nemesis for ages! Attempted 22.5kg and hit 4.5 reps

Second hand stuff is a cheap way to train at home. Check out gumtree perhaps for ur local area?

Training paid off, under 30 mins for my charity 5k today. 29.58 mins. Pretty chuffed with that. Now back to a little more focus on the weights :)

Hadn’t managed to get a 5x5 in for a week or so due to my last minute training for the 5k charity run on Sunday. Was a bit worried about the numbers but I turned on the app and it told me to ‘reduce weights by 10% so you don’t get sore’. It’s like it could read my mind! Anyhow smashed all but rows.... current numbers a…

I happily eat 80g for breakfast and if I get hungry later on or even during the day I always have my oats to hand. I find them very handy ‘fast’ food :)

Day off from lifting for me but managed to hit my target or over 2000 calories yesterday. I had been struggling to add calories but almonds and protein shake came in handy. As for today I found some Olympic bumper plates and a plate stands second hand so now I can deadlift with the bar a little bit higher off the floor.…

Set myself a target today of testing my max weight keeping good form for 12 reps of each 5x5 move. SQUATS - warm up at 20kg x 12, 40kg x 12 x 3 all great form BENCH - warm up at 20kg x 12, 25kg x 12 (easy), 30 x 12 x 2, 30kg x 11 (last one was just too much) OHP - 20kg x 8, 20kg x 9, 20kg x 10 (seemed to gain strength with…

My pull-up assistance band came yesterday. The green one so should help me start my journey to being able to do a pull up unassisted! Hubby looked at me like I was mental and likened it to a catapult. I’m sure he thinks he’s ganna find me with legs dangling down from the ceiling

Same head inches lost and body shaking real well but losses in actual weight very slow. But that’s the way weight loss should be. I’d put money on you seeing a big scale lose at some point due to all that extra lean muscle

Hugs to those having a bad time at the moment. Keep with it peeps things will get better xx Training wise had another PT session yesterday. Was mainly bear complex trying to get some cardio into weight session ready for my fun run next Sunday. We did a pyramid bear complex. 12.5, 15, 17.5, 20, 17.5, 15, 12.5, 10kg…

I’ve found the biggest moral booster for me is when u have 2 workouts with failure (this example for OHP), you go into the last try on the 3 workout thinking you are going to fail and have to reload only to smash it! That’s when I really started to trust 5x5 :)

I work shifts on the railway. Range from 5am starts to night shifts of which the latest start is 2320

Hi sorry I just saw this reply :) I think my issue was a few bits really. Mainly it being a new much bigger setup so balance thrown a little. My old bar was 5ft and this is 7ft to fit the cage. My core is already pretty good now and my next lot of squats were far better. I had one failure but I’m certainly pushing harder…

Not posted for a few days but had a fun last few days of the week. Friday was a PT day we did some outdoor cardio. Was roughly 5k intervals. I was killed off with some sprints round a football field with a. Parachute strapped to my back

I’d love to be back in my size 12s

My pt did my TDEE and it came out at 2540. Min calories to be 2040. Up until now my diary hits around 1500 / 1800 calories before exercise so time to up those a bit. Yesterday I ate as much as I felt I could but after strength training and biking 8 miles to work and back I had a net calorie count of around 1000. I’m ganna…

My PT did mine a while ago and it came out around 2540 calories but no less than 2040. Starting to feel hungry now a lot so upping calories. We’re see where aiming for 2000 gets me

Thanks I’ll grab some chalk online. I was using gloves today but I think I need that extra help now. The cage came with some material loops for lifting. I’ll take a pic of them if I remember as no idea how they are used

Moved over to my new setup. 7ft Olympic barbell was quite a change! Anyhow I attempted workout B on the weights the app said. I failed on all but came close. Deadlift felt like a grip issue so any tips on that would be helpful. Not sure if cause of the bigger diameter of the bar? Today’s results: Squats - 55kg 3,5,5,5,5…

These are the DVDs I’ll never get round to opening. Not sure if a full set but I picked up up for pennies from a charity shop a few years back.

Are u in the uk? I have 5 or 6 DVD’s that are kettle bell work outs. I’m happy to pass on if any good

Managed to hit all my last 2 A&B session 5x5 targets! Squat 52.5kg, overhead press 22.5kg, dead lift 50kg, bench press 32.5kg, row 37.5kg. All above don’t include the light bar. My Olympic bar arrives today and some fractional weights. I shall move over to the new bar which should power me through the next 2.5kgs extra…

Hi all I found a brand New power cage for £139. Someone bought it and didn’t even open the box! It’s only a starter one but rated to 200kg so I’m doubting I’ll need another. Put it together now so just waiting for a 7 foot Olympic bar. So excited!

Mine randomly stopped syncing about 10 days ago. Would only re-sync if I deleted my Fitbit from account and re linked it. Such a faff. Fitbit replaced it and new one is holding up fine again. I’d say message Fitbit and get new one as they ain’t the most long lasting of watches
-
Myself and family have had 6 fitbits between us and 5 have been replaced on warrenty, some more than once. I’m considering moving away from them. Only bonus is they do replace fault fitbits no problem no hassle it’s just annoying losing some activity records etc
-
They are pretty cheap that size could always buy your own. That or moan till they buy some
-
Build up your core again first I’d say, that’s what I had to do to get over a hip/abdominal injury where slightest move at the gym would cause me agonizing ripping pain. Slow and steady
-
I’m lacto free due to bad intolerance. I do eat meat etc tho.

Could you use 2 steps? Maybe not ideal if you are at high weights I guess thinking about it?
