I am still in, gonna do better this month!

Red River I was 6 or 7 when I first saw it, and it is still in my top 5 westerns.

Number of books being read at once was very accurate guage of how stressed and neurotic I was back in my 30s and 40s. 3 was livable, could still be productive, 5 or 6 meant I was approaching catotonia! Once tried reading straight down the shelf in university library to see if I could beat Thomas Wolfe's record, during law…

Just finished "We Were Eight Years in Power" by TaNahesi Coats. Should be read by every American voter, before voting next time. Now reading "Grant", unabridged, by Ron Chernow. A detailed reminder of how we got to here.

Did well today, well under on calories, and shoveled snow us 24 minutes. Gotta do better. Everything logged. Focus on being in winners circle next month.

I vote for the defined time, one month at a time. For me it keeps the goals more realistic and reachable, plus a chance t o start over. I am so glad the holidays will be over next Tuesday morning!! I feel great about losing weight these last two months, instead of gaining, but it has been a tough experience since…

Dec. 23, 24 and 25 no tracking, way too much drinking. Back on the wagon today! 5,072 steps, over 1 hour active. Starting new strength program. Well under on calories, with excellent nutrition. Everything logged. Onward and downward!!

Real cold is here to stay, may be very hard to get the steps in, so I am going to switch to barbells and Nordic Trak to get the work done. Stay tuned. 5,072 steps today.

Finally back on track. No alcohol today, after a rough weekend.

1 cup pure grape juice every morning. 3 to 5 cups freshly ground coffee every day.

Lot of young people here, maybe I should start a Geezer thread?? Turned 76 last week, and I have lost over 20 pounds so far with the help of MFP. Getting barbell equipment for Christmas, and planning to lose at least 30 more pounds, all fat!

It is the best of times, and the worst of times! Took my 3rd pass on 12/16, at the birthday feast, over 4,000 calories, and now staring at family Christma s dinners on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Will undoubtedly be over on calories one or more of those days, and very difficult to track accurately without being a boorish…

Great week so far, no alcohol! Feeling good, aiming to be in much better control for Xmas eve and Xmas day. Thanks to this group for motivation and inspiration.

Another good day, no alcohol

Another day without wine, but then there was no sunshine either. Sure hope I am not scaring the sun away! LOL

Tough party weekend, but two days without alky now. It was a great party, great people, but I have to do better on New Years!
-
Good day to recover from a party weekend. Still need to lose a little over 2 lbs to make 250 by New Years. 14,425 steps today. Aiming for 15k tomorrow.

Well, the wine gods got me last night. Exercise is great, eating is ok, but drinking out of control last night. Was really good wine though!!
-
Well, sadly have to take my second pass today. Did great on exercise, but too much eating and drinking, considerably over on calories, and tracking crashed late in the evening. LOL Day before, 14th, I did manage to squeak by and get it all tracked, but tomorrow is the big family birthday dinner, we'll see how it works out.…

Doing great walking, not so great making eating choices. Birthday leading into Christmas is a hard challenge for me. 11,832 steps yesterday, and already at 10,000 today, with thousands yet to come!

Plenty of exercise, but no dumbbells, can't seem to get my day sufficiently organized. 15,071 steps! Well under on calories. Everything logged.

No alcohol today, no problem.
