Welcome! The best thing to do when starting out is to develop the habit of logging what you eat, the good and especially the bad. The numbers will give you an objective view of your daily habits and you can start making smarter decisions, or at least you can see how your not-so-great decisions affect your body.

One idea is to limit yourself from situations that will tempt you. Grocery stores are designed to encourage you to buy more than you need, so I started getting most of my staple foods delivered to me in bulk from Amazon. That way, whenever I'm in the grocery store, I know exactly what I need and only focus on buying those…

I'm in! 60lbs is a familiar number, it was the amount of fat my last body scan told me I was lugging around everyday. That was last month, getting another scan next week and hoping for a drop!

Good luck! I think a pound a week is a good goal when you're starting out. But also remember that when you're starting out, you're body is trying to adapt to this new diet and exercise routine you're forcing on it, so expect there to be a lot of swings. For me, I decided to take a break from weighing myself the first few…

Welcome! I'm still new to the MFP community, recently made my diary public because...well, why not?

Congrats on making it to Day 2! I couldn't imagine trying to run in 90 degree heat, I switched my running to the early morning so I can get my miles in while it's still in the 60's in downtown LA. I'm prepping for my second 10K race this Sunday and can't wait!
