@amdev23_23 I too have experienced hair loss while transitioning to a new way of eating. The first time I had a significant hair loss, I was eating a doctor supervised diet that was low carb/low fat/low calorie! I lost 34 pounds in eight weeks and every morning in the shower, it looked like I was showering with a small…

Hi folks, Just found this group; it looks like a good bunch. I've been here on MFP for a few years. Some stints I logged in everyday for over six months. Recently, I would log in, start journaling my weight and food intake for a couple of days and then I'd fall by the wayside for a couple of weeks. Then it would start all…

I'd love to know what kind of rewards you give yourself. I read "The Movie Seat" blog here on MFP and she had a great list of her non-food rewards, including an orchid plant, new clothes, and eventually a weekend getaway. These types of things keep me motivated. I can relate to the belt hole as a real motivator!!

Welcome and congratulations! I've found Keto the easiest eating plan for weight loss I've ever done, mostly because of the loss of cravings and hunger that eventually happen. Graduating law school and especially studying for the bar can/will be stressful. Take that into consideration when stepping on the scale. Stick with…

I just bought the Thrive brand this week from Thrive Market (online). I'm glad I stumbled upon this thread, cuz I had no idea how to fix them.
-
@cgcrutch You Bet! I'll tell you all about it! B)

7 days in Rome only. First time there! Looking forward to an authentic cannoli, some good wine and all the outdoor "flea" markets!
-
@tcunbeliever @sljohnson1207 and @chinatowninchina Thanks you guys! This is very useful to me and puts me at ease about eating in Italy!
-
I guess I'll just ask this here on this thread because it's relevant. I'm going to Rome next week and I'm planning to check-in to MFP daily, so as not to stop my streak. I want to experience the flavors of Italy, but I don't want to eat with wild abandon and come home ?lbs heavier! Any suggestions on tracking foreign…

@Jacqgh777 Do you plan to count the Swerve carbs listed here in the MFP datatbase or zero them out, as some say you can with erythritol products? By the way, if you choose to count them, they're listed incorrectly or outdated on the MFP database for Swerve Confectioners variety.

Hi! Lots of information here to digest, I know. Most of the contributors in this forum do not have medical credentials, nor do they have degrees in nutrition. However, I've found that many, many MDs are not educated in nutrition or prevention! So many western, conventional doctors focus on disease (obesity) and the…

@tmoneyag99 , @cgcrutch Thanks you guys!!!! Great stuff you've shared!

Hi @KnitOrMiss, Thanks for this information! Ya know, I too, believe, as you indicated, there are a couple of different camps that approach the idea of juicing very differently. I think they'd all prefer to share the same toothbrush rather than share a common theory! Yes, there is a LOT to read out there on nutrition! Not…

@tcunbeliever Cool- Thank you! I'm going to check out your diary!

@kimberwolf71 Thank you for defining the green juice/drinking your calories conundrum! I feel the same way about testing out a Keto friendly (low/no fruit) green drink- I may be ready for it as my sweet-tooth disappears. I know a lot of folks who don't juice because of the amount of waste. I have tried making crackers and…

@kpk54 Thanks again for your input! I wholeheartedly agree with your statement. I really do appreciate all who take the time to respond to my discussion topic. I try to take away what I find valuable/credible and leave the rest.

@jazzb9363 Thank you for taking the time comment. I'm afraid you may have misunderstood what I wrote. I am no longer juicing while on Keto, as my juices have too many carbs to fit into my macros. However, I do recommend juicing to anyone who isn't keeping carbs under 20ish! Drinking your calories is not recommended by…

Thanks @kpk54! I juiced daily for about 18 months before trying Keto. I miss all the nutrients I quickly got from my green drinks. I'm not sure how they'd taste w/out the fruit. Plain celery juice or spinach juice just doesn't seem appealing. I manage to get some berries in my diet and occasionally, I have 1/2 an apple and…

Oh man, I can relate! My super fit husband (surfs & paddles daily), who has had the same 33" waist since I met him 27 years ago, was the worst supporter! I ended up reduced to tears one day, explaining to him that munching away on nutter butters, or buttered popcorn, right next to me, while I'm trying to stay under 1200…

I'm in this month but I'll be entering my weight on the spreadsheet only. Okay, let's do this!!!

@0426jamie @jazzb9363 Thanks so much for your reply. I appreciate your input. I decided to look into your statements and ask my trainer at my wellness center. She has multiple degrees in sports medicine and nutrition. I wouldn't have known to ask her about these things if you hadn't brought them to my attention- thanks!!!

By the end of the month, whoever has not updated for several weeks will be pushed to the back of the spreadsheet and I won't include those in the following month. [/quote] Hi @NikkiJRM , Thanks again for this brilliant spreadsheet! Makes the challenge so easy to track. I'm not planning to post my last January weigh-in…

Hey! We'll be in Rome March 1! I'm hoping the walking we plan on doing will help to counteract all the cannolis I'm going to inhale. Best of luck to you with Keto in Italy. It might not be that hard- yes, there's a lot of pasta and vino, but think about all the olives, prosciutto, cheese and gorgeous veggies. Hoping you'll…

@misssararae I think a lot about fiber and getting enough greens on this diet. Along with @acruickshank6876, I love to eat an avocado a day to help get my fiber number around 25g. I often try to include chia seeds, via chia pudding (zillions of ways to make it keto style) to increase fiber intake. It's not just about the…

Hi Nikki, Thank you for creating this! My column seems to be malfunctioning. I'm only showing a total 1 lb loss for January. It doesn't seem to want to update. I'm column AF - Merry Mermaid. Could you take a look, please? Thanks.

I weighed in today 1/10/18 SW- 195 (back in October) CW- 185.75 GW-165 ( My March 1st goal. My actual goal weight is much lower, but I'd like to be 20lbs down at the start of my vacation on 3/1).

I'm in too. I was feeling bummed about bailing on the Dec challenge half-way through last month- way too many obstacles. But I'm over it now. Feeling excited about this month and the prospects that a fresh new year brings! I'm working toward a 20lb loss by March 1!

Well, I've completely fallen off the wagon! I started out thinking, this December, I'd lose close to the same amount as my success in November (10lbs). Then I reevaluated how challenging December would be because of my birthday and holiday parties. So I figured if I just maintain and not gain, I'd be content with that. I…

December challenge 12/11 weigh-in: I've gained! I knew I would when I agreed to have my family take me to an Italian restaurant for my birthday on Saturday night. C'mon, I'm not going to restrain on my birthday. I tested myself (urinalysis strips) and yup, I was negative for ketones the next morning. I didn't even bother…

@chinatowninchina - OMGosh, that is very jolting! I'm glad to hear you're okay! I tried to make limoncello once and managed to make it way too strong- all the recipients of the little bottles got plastered. They asked me not to make it again! LOL. I'll keep a thought for you- that's a pretty big deal to go through…
