I empathize but I can't quite relate as I love having people, even other men, comment on my weight loss. They ask how I did it, tell me I look great, I'm wasting away etc. I also did it for health reasons but being told I look better is icing on the cake.

Sometimes I use the app. Other times I just track it as "cardio". I haven't decided which is best.

You can do it. Find a book or a program that you like and also start tracking what you eat. Maybe join a group to find some encouragement and support. Even Facebook groups. Don't give up.

I just track it as generic Cardio. Tracking it specifically as jumping rope doesn't add much value.

Yes. I got mine a month ago and I enjoy it a lot except for a few glitches. It tends to add to many active calories after a workout leading you to believe you can eat more than you really can.
