Hi, my own system is to keep eating the same foods but simply restric the calorie intake. e.g. Special K is a good carb loader to get you started as long as you measure the quantity and use skimmed or semi milk ! In reality, I more or less eat what I want for breakfast but avoid the stodgy items like bread,toast,rolls etc.…

Hi, Calorie counting with MFP has been the ONLY successful method I found to control my weight. I say 'control' because I don't expect to stick ridgidly to calorie counting after hitting my goal as it's natural for motivation to wane after a while.
