Well, I am happy to say that my weight loss has slowed to between .5 lb to a lb per week. I'm still eating the same amount so likely it was the staph infection causing the dramatic weight loss, which triggered the desire the starve myself. It slowed exactly when the antibiotics started working. Thank you for that too, btw.…

Mine is to be able to take off my wedding rings by our 10th year anniversary. Just to get them cleaned for the first time!

I'm going to be logging, but will eat at maintenance for several days. That way, I won't lose any progress I have made, but I will have a reasonable amount of treats.

Hey, this is kind of interesting! I've now been on stronger antibiotics about four days now, and my staph infection is finally starting to respond to them and subside!!! And interestingly, I weighed myself this morning and I haven't gone down at all for the first time in about 3 weeks, which is when the staph really…

That's very sweet of you! I have a lot to learn. And in the spirit of taking all your advice, I'm baking bread this morning and will be enjoying a couple slices for a snack! I didn't quite make it to goal yesterday, but I did force myself to finish all my meals and even had some chocolate in the evening to bring up my…

[quote="GottaBurnEmAll;c-410 I'm with you. I'm 55 years old, and I broke my appetite signalling switch a very long time ago. One thing I'd suggest to you that's been helpful to me? Well, a little backstory. I got stuck in a binge/restrict cycle for the past year. One of the many things that helped me get out of it was…

I have a weird body. All that trusting your body? Yeah well, every time I do that, I end up in the hospital, have a traumatic birth, almost starve my son while breastfeeding because apparently my milk had no fat, the nutrients didn't go the the baby first, so he lost milestones and slept almost 24 hours per day. Even the…

The problem is my appetite has never lead me in the right direction. Either I'm starving all the time while gaining weight, or I have no appetite at all while losing weight. I've always struggled with finding a balance because my appetite is just always off. That's why I love MFP. No more guess work. It's done for me.

It's embarrassing to read my posts and see the truth of what you're saying. I didn't fully realize it untill rereading my own posts. I'm going to keep posting here for that reason, if you guys don't mind. So you can call me out when I am unreasonable. It's humiliating but good for me.

Dang it! I've got to get rid of that voice!! Since posting earlier, I got scared that now my infection is better, my weight loss will stop, so I changed my calories back to 1430. Now I'm changing it back to 1680, which it says will result in a lb loss per week, while being lightly active. This is so hard to control!! I've…

Well, I'm glad to hear that you were losing 2 lbs per week and it didn't hurt you! The thing is, I just have no appetite. It's not that I'm restricting myself, I'm just not hungry. I always do lose my appetite when I exercise more, which is just 10,000 steps. Previously, I was extremely depressed and very sedentary, which…

So I'm still losing too quickly, I'm not sure why. I set my activity level too low, I think, since I'm trying to get 10,000 steps in. Sometimes, I don't, which makes me anxious, so I thought by setting it low, any extra calories burned would be icing on the cake. I raised my activity level, so that should help.…

I've never been diagnosed but I've struggled with the binging/starving myself since I was twelve. I read somewhere on this site some talking about begging and pleading with themselves not to give way to binging, and they just can't. That rang such a bell! How many times have I pleased with myself in the shower to just stop…

Mine are, first to get under 190, then to get to 182, which is what I weighed at the doctor's office several years ago, and then to get to 173, when I will finally be obese no longer! I'm at 194 right now, so I'm close to my first goal!

I've only lost 12 lbs out of 70 lbs, but I can already see space again between my arms and waist, when I stand with my arms hanging down.

I lost 10.5 lbs but got sick for a week. Then I started exercising again, 10,000 steps daily, and the scale shows I've gained a lb, but my huge bum is smaller and so is my back and waist. And I don't even feel bad about the 1 lb gain! I know it's not fat, as I'm smaller, plus had calorie deficits every day this week. It…

Thank you all! I feel encouraged and steadied! I really do want to make this a sustainable thing. That's right, there is no rush, because this is for the rest of my life. Not losing, that is, but eating at a healthy level, including long term maintenance, when I get to it. How do I figure out my TDEE? I don't want to have…

Thank you! I'm going to come back and read this whenever I feel the urge to starve myself. I'm now going to go eat my alloted calories, even though I don't feel like it. Thank you! I love good hard logic!

I've now lost 10.5 lbs!! I think the water weight should be gone soon, if not already. Now that I'm used to eating less, I'm losing all appetite so I'm having to struggle to force myself to eat. This is familiar territory though. I binge and then starve myself to lose weight, because my appetite has always been off. Which…

Well, I don't know whether to be happy or not. I hadn't been drinking much while I wasn't well, too tired, although I wasn't nauseated, so yesterday I drank my goal of 80oz of water and I'm down another .6 lbs from yesterday. I still feel weak and slightly dizzy from my cold, so I only got 5,000 steps in yesterday. And I…

Thank you guys so much! I'll give it 10 more days before changing anything, I guess, to see if the initial drop stops. Then maybe I'll adjust my activity level, I think I've put it too low. I just wanted to be sure I would still lose weight if I didn't get my steps in. What activity level should I use for 10,000 steps…
