  • I’ve had a jar of peanut butter at my desk since I started. Maybe I should actually open it. And shakes! Those are excellent suggestions. It is easier to drink a meal than eat a meal when I’m down. Thanks for all the suggestions. A new week and a new chance to get back on the wagon.
  • +1 for the cream-based soups. Easy going down.
  • To the OP, how long have you been working on yourself? When I started tracking calories and working out in a gym last year, I think my wife simply thought it was a fad that would run its course, and that I wasn’t seriously trying to change and be healthier. Now that the “newness” has worn off, she better accepts that I am…
  • Nice work! I’m not on the same program, but I do have to say that getting up early has its benefits. I also get up at 5:00 AM and it allows me time to do some yoga, take my time with breakfast, and generally appreciate my place in life. And the house is so quiet without kids, SO, or animals constantly vying for my…

  • Not “books” per se, but have you read Gaiman’s Sandman series? I always scoffed at the notion of a “graphic novel” before I read that. The man is a very good writer, giving you a lot of emotion in very few words. As for horror, I can think of nothing more sinister than Cormac McCarthy’s The Road.
  • 1. Gain to 170 by the end of March. 2. Improve my form and reduce chances of injury on various lifts. 3. Work on stability and mobility exercises to complement heavy lifts. 4. Look rather studly by swimsuit season.
  • My personal music chronology starts in the Numetal of the late nineties/early aughts. From there, my foundation was Rammstein, who are still one of my all time favorites, and they STILL put on a hell of a show. From there, I expanded into mostly melodeath: Children of Bodom, Norther, Kalmah, Disarmonia Mundi... I enjoy a…
