Yesterday I ran a 30KM, road marathon and 50KM PR at the Orange Curtain 50/100 event. It’s a flat bike path event with only a handful of small hills. Thanks all! I talked it out with my coach last night, made some adjustments to my training plan for February (and to my attitude ;)) and went out today and slayed an 18 mile road run. YTD Stats: 16,957’ gain 117.6 miles

Sadly I missed a cutoff early in my day due to being undertrained and still sick this week. I couldn’t get any turnover on the climbs, and this race has over 10,000’ climbing so that was crucial! Start by hiking hilly terrain. Hiking briskly is just as effective training as running on hills, and easier on the body. Stick to trail, over road, to minimize impact injuries.
