  • My coworker's 2 year old granddaughter is in remission from her cancer!
  • Fan of Fage non-fat or Costco’s brand in the big tubs. Nice and thick. I use it as a sour cream substitute as well. For dessert I dress it up with fruit (when the fruit is tart I occasionally add a tablespoon of maple syrup, or honey). If I am low on fiber I top with nuts or chia or my homemade granola. Yum!
  • I love donuts, a downfall of mine, I know if I have one I will want more. I keep telling myself I'll have one ... just not yet. I am responsible for picking up 5 dozen once a month for my church ... haven't had one yet this year. I will though when the time is right. It's my own personal mind game. Have had other desserts…
  • Hi all, I am new, sort of. I have been using this site since January to log my journey from 166 lbs to 144 lbs. Along the way I got my husband onboard and together we have been doing what we can to eat better and get exercise. I love that I am able to go for long walks with him now, he used to just say "See ya when ya get…
  • Wearing my daughters hand me downs!
  • For what it’s worth I referenced the wrong doc in my earlier post. I meant Dr Robert Lustig NOT David LustWig. That will probably still get me lots of woo. I truly found his documentaries about sugar informative.
  • Some times we have breakfast for dinner, basically omelets. Mod pizza has a great salad bar. Subway has sandwiches, salad and soup.
  • Right, free pass to eat whatever keeps them going. My dad went from 150 lbs to 98 before he died. We encouraged the poor soul to eat anything he wanted.
  • Oh my strong opinions! Didn't mean to step into a hornets nest. I just think that the Dr. Ludwig has some interesting points about how sugar is metabolized. I think there may be some truth to the vicious cycle we can get into when eating too many empty calories. But feel free to disagree! I do think that empty calories…
  • I suggest you watch a video on YouTube by Dr. Robert Ludwig. He talks about a condition called "Metabolic Syndrome" that is somewhat of a vicious cycle where basically body insulin gets out of balance and the body processes blood sugar into fat, with much of it going to the liver. The body gets somewhat dependent the cycle…
  • Actually the thought that someday I may have this kind of problem (people telling me I have lost too much weight) is inspiring ... can't wait for it to happen. When it does I will have plenty of come-backs thanks to this thread! But honestly I hope that for the most part I can be an inspiration to others and that they ask…
  • Oh yeah, that feeling in your gut when you have indulged totally makes you regret your “secret” rendezvous!
  • Well thanks for straightening me out! I think this all means I can eat more, I like it!
  • It seems like if you are estimating an activity level you have already included the exercise calories in the MFP guideline for calorie intake. So if you "eat them back" you are accounting for them twice. However, if you say you are sedentary and then exercise I guess you CAN eat them back and still lose weight. Right?
