I figured I’d join this app and people would be supportive but it’s the opposite. Even IF they see the word toning on other threads and it’s annoying they aren’t obliged to make rude comments. I haven’t been working out for long, and I’m getting condescending answers on this thread. Lovely fitness community. Lmao

I already got answers from people, no offense but I don’t need any more advice. Got the point. Thank you.

Not funny

Thanks to everyone who answered kindly, appreciate it. The exercise was the tricep extension machine BTW. I feel like if I want a toned upper body and a built lower body I shouldn’t be made fun of for that because that’s the look I want. I don’t laugh at women with built upper bodies and no legs? But thanks anyway.

Feel free to add me, currently eating at a calorie surplus and bulking!
-
Yes, exactly

Sorry to confuse you! I’m eating in a surplus because I want to build muscle in my lower body which is what I train most of the week with close to my maximum weight*. When I did triceps yesterday the 30 lbs was easy for me to do with a lot of reps but I woke up sore this morning. I’m wondering if maybe next time I should…

Yes, I’m currently eating in a surplus
-
No, I am not trying to bulk... only tone.

22 years old, with a background in running (track & cross country running) About two years ago I started slacking off completely on exercise and began to gain body fat and my health declined. So I began weightlifting and strength training January 2017 and I’ve loved it ever since. Looking to gain an additional 15 to 20…

Only if the person seems open to the advice or asks for it. Otherwise no, it’s not okay. I mind my business and don’t really look around to even notice someone using improper form tbh unless i see something really outlandish... and even then I say nothing.

Feel free to add

A lot of mass gainers will make you bloated. I tried mass tech when I first started out and it was complete trash. Not all of them are like that but some of them are. Just up your calorie intake.
-
No, you can only tone your booty if you don’t use weights. I’d suggest trying light weight kneeling squats & kettlebell deadlifts if you’re not used to using a lot of weight.

It honestly depends on your goal.
