  • Just read about this in textbook. Stretch receptors! Stretch receptors send signals to the brain (hypothalamus? Don't quote that...) that serve as one of our signals that we are "full". Over a period of time, consuming higher amounts of food than we should in one meal will result in less sensitive stretch receptors,…
  • We order boxes with three kits each week. I've tried maybe 4 brands of kits. Currently I alternate between Home Chef and Marley Spoon, have a coupon waiting for BA. We did not care for HelloFresh, as their meals are complicated and very unhealthy (but tasty! And big portions) and I hated that you had to choose basically…
  • Seems a general consensus, many similar foods. Deep fried, other than McD fries (bad weakness here.) Love McD nuggets, was bad and got a 4 piece last week. Got to nugget 3 and was like...nah, I'm good. You can really taste the grease on the roof of your mouth now! Even other fried foods, like fish and chips has no appeal…
  • I second the soy creamer. Didn't find other non dairy alternatives, which I know that isn't your goal, to give the same creamy consistency I like. The soy creamer is much more calorie contained, usually doesn't have added junk like most flavored creamers do. Also, check out Torani sauces!
  • I'm not finding them worth it after a few years of experimentation. Currently I have a "vegan" mix on the counter. Being on a stupid low calorie diet, and an allergy elimination diet, I thought these powders would help in staying reasonable on calories while providing some of the nutrients I was worried I am missing. I'm…
  • Corn thins :) I've been struggling here too. I found it best, while also on 1200 goal, to make sure I'm eating quality foods at meals and that prevents me from feeling the need to snack at all. Sometimes, of course, still unavoidable. The worst is going somewhere where there's food I can't or shouldn't be eating (say, kids…
  • Same boat here Mama. I've recently been cutting out many, many foods in order to (lose weight) figure out cause of intense, disfiguring eczema and food allergy symptoms. Naturally, dairy was on chopping block, which eliminated my two choice creamers. I will not, can not, give up my morning coffee. I have tried a dozen…
