  • No snow just yet, it's supposed to start around 9am. Michael turned up unexpectedly yesterday and took me for the groceries although I could have managed fine for the next few days. Personally I think he was bored and wanted some time with The Bean who worships the ground he walks on. Much excited high pitched yelping when…
  • You didn't misread LIN. The police said it was the equivalent of a crash every 2 minutes during the 3 days! The CN tower is closed to tourists because big chunks of ice are dropping on them as we warm up. Solar panels flew off roofs into other folks windows and of course trees uprooted. There's a program on at the moment…
  • Thanks JACKIE. Very accurate description of storm except I wish they'd had a photo of the oceanic waves! We've woken up to a still white world with rain soaked windows. The howling wind has died down AND a lone bird is tweeting its little head off. No power outage for me. Very lucky. It's the first time my wee dog hasn't…
  • Coffee creamer...........(wanted to put "Bean there, done that" but scared of being disqualified.)
  • Just an update if you are interested. Storm still going on here. We are white over but it's like crusty snow. Trees swaying in the wind and apparently 10s of thousands without power. It's a pity the Christmas lights got taken down! It's January out there. I tried to copy the piece on the weather channel for you but…
  • Sounds like my Portuguese DIL PATSY. Enjoy. Anne.
  • Well, I actually meant my little Jilly JACKIE, but point made. Mike could end up with me! Doubt it though me being the greater evil! I think they'd all have a whip round to put me in care! Outside is still white over, but the "rain" on the windows isn't making so much noise anymore. Maybe it's turning to just water! Mark…
  • It's funny, but LINS robot is so like Jilly Bean as well. Bump, bump, bump, silence, what's she up to sort of thing. The weather is atrocious! No other word for it. Over 500 road crashes yesterday, planes grounded, outages forecast, icy snow on the ground and hail rattling the windows. Stop the world, I want to get off.…
  • Pudding cut (hair)
  • We are now covered in snow. It looks like January out there! 'Nuff said!
  • Yes Darren will be moving to Cambridge next week JACKIE. Catherine and the girls go when schools out. There's all sorts of strangers arriving across the road in icy sleet. (Cars so far). I'm starting to chicken out! I'm not a party animal at the best of times and if it's a cheese and wine do I can't drink wine anyway…
  • Northern Fiction Alliance says publishing industry should move north http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-43752992 Brilliant SANDY, thanks yet again. Owe you big time. I'm not sure if this will be of interest PATSY. Ignore of course if not. Anne.
  • I read this on BBC top stories SANDY. "Publishers should set up in the north". I thought it might interest PATSY, but I haven't a clue how to do a link should she be interested. Maybe not, because it is the UK. Anne.
  • I opened my blinds, peered out into the gloom and driving rain and shut them again. Contemplated going back to bed but decided The Bean and I might just as well have brekkie. She's now snoozing on the sofa and I'm writing on the iPad. It's going to be that sort of a day of course, apart from a huddled up crossing of the…
  • Mike loves his robot vacuum LIN. The weather forecast is so bad here for the weekend that the forecaster on the news channel says he is going into hiding in case he gets lynched! So rain now, ice rain or sleet overnight then changing to ice pellets all Saturday and Sunday People are asked to keep off the icy roads because…
  • I've been invited to Darren's farewell party tomorrow. Not a happy occasion for me although I wish them the very best. Sadness matches the miserable weather. Ice pellets this weekend. Well done BUZZ in foiling the would be thief and thanks for the tip. I await the latest phone call! I'm in the mood for carrot cake as well…
  • I lost a pound and I'm back to pre Christmas weight. It's a little more than I'd like but my body seems happy at this weight and I will try to maintain from now on although MFP have given me an extra 300 cals which seems a lot so who knows, if I eat below I might achieve a further 2lb loss in time! Anne.
  • Morning, gloomy morning all, rain day and then an ice storm across the weekend. However those of us living on the edge of tropical Lake Ontario might lose out and only get cold rain. You are not alone in being obsessed with today's political climate BUZZ and PATSY! I for one fear we are repeating history. Michael at 57…
  • Ear (we go) again. (Am I disqualified!)
  • Oh my goodness, I do believe I've changed my username. Yes I DID. Thanks SANDY, maybe not so doddery after all, even if I did just drop the salt shaker into my full coffee mug! Coffee flavoured salt, lol. There's going to be a third thing said she ominously. Going to keep away from the new washer!!!! Anne the brilliant…
  • Good morning, and good it is right now. Brilliant sunshine but by noon it is forecast rain, rain and more rain until Monday I believe. Never mind, very warm tomorrow so hopefully no more morning ice on the bird bath. Even a shredded carrot doesn't make it with The Bean LIN. All deceptions tried. BUT she does love peas.…
  • Orchestra performance
  • JACKIE, my piggy little dog will eat anything going, particularly if it's in the street, but not in any form, a carrot. I cook exactly as you do and put peas in her stew later, along with rice, both accepted. What are the white chunks in George's pan, (looks very appetizing by the way), if potato, the Bean will eat them.…
  • Tried what you suggested SANDY, but I almost lost you all again. I think I'll leave well alone! ....... Anne. PS. Jilly won't eat carrots in any form.
