I would suggest getting a fitbit or something of the sort to keep track of steps/active minutes and calories burned. That way you can make sure you are getting enough nutrients to makeup for what you burn each day and not have to fool with extra exercise if you're getting it in at work.

Hey there! I'll be 31 this November and have been on and off of "diets" my entire life. Got back into it a little over a year ago and have been taking it seriously. I am down 117 pounds total and 57 pounds in a little over a year. I still have a little bit to go, and always happy to have new friends to support and help…

Welcome Sally! Sounds like great motivation to get healthier :) Best of luck

Welcome back and best of luck! It's always so easy to lose motivation and gain the weight, too bad it isn't as easy to maintain and lose.

I'm feeling really bored and wishing I could go out and enjoy the weather, but stuck at work instead.
-
Absolutely! I was very active here for a while but then I slacked off. Looking for more support and to help keep others motivated!

Exercise isn't absolutely necessary but it definitely helps and unbelievably, gives you more energy! The fact that you love to cook is helpful, means you can play around with healthy recipes and feel like you actually know what you are doing, or as the above mentioned, cook for half a week to a week at once and have some…

Fantastic weight loss so far! You are in the right place to stay motivated and find tips and tricks :) I do high protein lower carb (not full blown Keto) and watch my sodium. It has worked wonders for me! Feel free to add me

Hi there and welcome to the community :)

Welcome to MFP, I hope it helps you along your way! Sorry to hear about your knee, injuries can definitely make staying active a lot more difficult and gaining weight much easier.

I try to meal plan the night before and track my entire next day before I even go to bed. That way I know I'll be able to eat enough to keep me full, eat 3 meals a day and still stay under my goals. It can be time consuming and sometimes feels like a chore, but it is worth it and planning ahead always helps me stay on…

It takes time and sometimes success isn't seen on the scale. Make sure you measure yourself or take pictures along the way for motivation. Best of luck!

I love coming here when I'm feeling discouraged or about to fall off the wagon, helps keep me motivated and allows me a place to voice my concerns/success/failures etc. Congrats on reaching your goal and best of luck maintaining.

That is great news! It is such a fantastic feeling. I recently saw it myself and nearly cried!

My best friend does it that way and it works for her wonderfully. I can't do it like that because if I eat one slice of pizza, I'm gonna eat three. I have to stick to healthier choices and it usually allows me to eat more and feel fuller. Everyone does it in their own way, it depends on what you can do and if losing weight…

Sounds like you are on the right track! One day at a time is the only way to do it. Best of luck to you

Your weight loss so far is already impressive! Keep it up, you can ABSOLUTELY do this.

Depression/anxiety are very hard to battle while trying to live a healthier lifestyle. I've let mine get the best of me and throw me off track more times that I can count, but what I have to remember is that a bad meal doesn't have to mean a bad day, a bad day doesn't have to mean a bad week and a bad week doesn't have to…

I go back and forth between being super social and then slacking off and not being. Typically if I'm posting frequently, tha tmeans I'm doing a good job or feeling motivated, so maybe it would help to have more friends to keep me on here!

Focus on your goals, tell yourself all of the benefits that come from losing weight and getting healthier. Maybe start out taking walks with someone or just by yourself listening to some of your favorite music. And remember that any activity is better than none!
-
I still have a decent way to go, but I have lost 115 pounds from my highest weight. It is hard, but very doable! Trying not to get lost and discouraged along the way is the hardest part. Feel free to friend me and best of luck!

Congratulations! NSV's are some of the best

Certainly! The more the merrier

That was and is some of the best motivation for me. I want to look in the mirror and not hate myself, I don't want my daughter hearing me talk about being "fat and miserable" and if I stay that way, I'm sure she will hear it even if I try my hardest to keep it from her. I will gladly help support you along the way if you…
