I diet controlled my gallstones for 3 years...then when that didn't work anymore it didn't work spectacularly. I couldn't eat any fat at all without triggering an attack and the only drink that didn't trigger an attack was lukewarm still water. Surgery became necessary. I'm 9 years on from surgery now and high fat foods…

I'd be outside tangled in my neighbours washing line (which currently has bed sheets on) but thankfully I'm already on the ground floor so no falling unless you count losing my chair!

Definitely see a physiotherapist. I have plates and screws holding my ankle together too. Even 15 years on the stairs are a little scary because that ankle doesn't bend to the full level of the good one. My physio was excellent. He showed me which exercises I should do to strengthen the muscles and make activity less…

I'm 5ft exactly and started out on 216lbs two weeks ago. My short term goal is 21lbs off by June, I'm 5lbs in so an encouraging start. Long term I'd be happy with 140lbs but suspect I'll level out higher than that and reaching lower will be a tremendous effort. But for now I'll log everything on the basis of a 2lb loss aim…

I couldn't carry them around all day...but that's exactly what I'm doing to my poor body. I'll never be svelte but I can stop carrying an extra 5 stone around and…

Cherry tomatoes are my go to snack at the moment. Only 3 calories per tomato and I've yet to manage to eat more than 100 calories worth. They travel well too if you pop them in a resealable tub because they don't taste bad if left at room temperature.

Absolutely - it's a silly thing but I bought a Boots Shapers BBQ Chicken Wrap for lunch on the go the other day. Perfectly sensible (as far as convenience foods go) in terms of calories and nutrients but on SW it would have cost me more than my syns for a day. On SW that would have sent me down the 'bad day' route and…

1. I don't want to be 'fat and forty' 2. I really want to see my children grow up and share at least a decent portion of their adulthood with them 3. I want to be healthier If I can average 1lb a week I'll get to my goal in time for my 4th decade. I do have a bit of a journey ahead of me but something has clicked and I'm…
