Yall beat me to it. You have to watch it knowing that it has some bias. The cancer part is what the "anti-keto" people will and do use to debunk it. Those of us that are doing it, want it to work and believe that it does. I'm more curious what the long term effects are. That's why I seek out and pay attention to the…

I NEVER ever drank coffee until about 3 months in on Keto. Then I found "bulletproof coffee" and became addicted. After hanging out with some coffee nerds a couple weeks ago, I'm quickly becoming a coffee nerd and and addict. I started with a Kureg. The biggest cup possible (breakfast blend mostly). 2 Tablespoons Kerrygold…

Sucralose is going to be tough for me to lose. I have a hard time drinking water. I have a urge for sodas that I don't like. To bridge it, i drink the sweetened sparkling water. They are 1 liter for 50 cents. I drink about 3 a day. It's worked, so I haven't stopped. I guess one day I'll need to. But I haven't noticed a…

Yeah. I didn't notice the backlash until starting. It's working for me. My doctor gave me a high five and the nurse made me write down my shopping list because she wanted to start immediately. If the fat guy on the job site thinks it's not healthy but my doctors do, I have a pretty good idea of which opinion I'm going to…

I've been on keto for 60 days, so I'm by no means an expert. On the boards I follow, there are several that have been on for 2-4 years. I don't believe it is any more or less sustainable as any other diet. It's easy for any person "dieting" to go back to eating poorly. Those with lots of weight to lose seem to have massive…

I started Keto in late March of this year. I was diagnosed as pre-diabetic in November. I dieted a little but nothing specific. I was MOSTLY concerned with my cholesterol levels, since I had given up all sugar with Keto. All my numbers were better......but here's my Cholesterol history: 8/12/15 - 168 10/17/16 - 169 4/21/17…

Basically, yes. The grams is based on your overall weight, but 20g sounds is about right for most. 5% of your overall calories from carbs.

I'll second (or third) the coconut oil/coco powder/stevia/vanilla combo. I pour two teaspoons into a candy mold and freeze them. Easy to measure, make, and most importantly - it satisfies my sweet "craving" I don't really have a craving. But if I have the room in my macros, it's my reward for kicking butt that day. I look…

I've just recently started trying this. Its a bit tricky because of my job. Lunch is my biggest hit or miss meal, so I've just tried to eliminate it. Sometimes, we have lunch meetings and fasting isn't really the best interaction at those. I just try to be as keto careful as I can. On the days I'm successful, I eat as soon…

I food prep on Sunday. I get a 12 cup muffin tin. I cook about 4 pounds of bacon for the week (me and the family). In each "muffin" - one egg, a half stick of bacon, crumbled, and a little cheese. Sometimes I'll add other things, but that's the basic. One thing I've been doing is saving the bacon drippings and using those…

Everybody has their own way of battling I think. It's inspiring to read everybody's "checklist" on how they manage it. Here's mine: Started the year at 357. Recently diagnosed with pre-diabetes, I knew I had to do something. Giving up soda was my instant change. Over 3 months dropped 7 pounds. Then, I started Keto on 3/22…

I use an app called Pacemaker and it mixes music. So for me, it's the intro to Kid Rock's Bawitaba and then into Billy Squire's The Stroke......and it goes on with like 30 seconds a song for an hour. I have a short attention span.

I agree. A two week keto will take off the water weight and as soon as you go back to carbs, put it on. I've been there a few times. But, you'll be amazed how much you lose in two weeks!

I started at 357 lbs. My goal was 300. But the dream is 250 lbs. I'm 6'4" and haven't been 250 since college. I think less would be bad. I'm already down 34 pounds. My goal is to be able to go white water rafting on vacation at the end of July without having to have a "conversation" about me fitting into the life vest. I'm…

It's not just a female thing. My wife notices, but nobody else really has. I haven't taken any "after" photos. I had a lot to lose. Down 34 pounds from a 357 start. My clothes fit better and I actually had to buy a new belt that was smaller. So, I know it's happening.

Good job Charlie! I'm right there with you. I lost a bunch of weight a few years ago because I promised a friend I would run in his 5k. A big bucket-list thing for me. Ran the race proudly and got a chocolate shake on the way home to celebrate. I never stopped drinking that shake. For years. Flash forward to New Years Day…

I started "a diet" on January 1. Really that just meant giving up sodas.....but I wasn't strict on myself. I had a lot to lose though. Just dong that, over 3 1/2 months, I lost 7 pounds. Then I saw some friends that had been on Keto and they sold me on it. Almost immediately, I jumped in head first. Took a few days to get…

It's inspiring to us that just started! Awesome work!

My short personal experience. On New Years Day, I did the polar bear plunge in the local pool. 17 degrees. Wind chill 3. Survived. My profile photo made the front page of the local paper. Not embarrassed by my weight - but it was a wakeup call. I had just recently been diagnosed with pre-diabetes the month before. I used…
