Heart rate monitors are not fully accurate so i take the calories burned w a grain of salt & the reason why I reduce estimated calorie burn by 25% sometimes more if I dont feel I put in a lot of effort. I do compare to the estimates that mfp provides. A lot of the time mfp estimates are higher than my manual calories…

Edit: (typed it wrong) I am 5’7

I use a polar heart rate monitor and reduce the “calories burned” by 25% but since I have not been eating the calories back overestimation wouldn’t be an issue. Will def keep in mind to eat back 75% and not full amt of calories burned. What u said about choosing accurate entries from the database is very very true. A…

Of course theres going to be some type of human error in tracking my calories & calorie counting but I would like to think im being as accurate as I can possibly be. I weigh almost everything, meats weighed raw, veggies, beans, rice weighed instead of using measuring cups. Even if I cant resist my family’s snacks around…

Actually mfp is set at losing 1lb a week. I dont lose weight quickly in general so thats why I went with 1lb/week. Mfp says that I should eat 1660 calories and im eating less than that. I dont eat my exercise calories back. Im trying to make sure I understand what you are asking. Example If I ate 1300 cal & burned roughly…

What about greek yogurt? Or protein cereal. Tuna & crackers. Peanut butter sandwich with wheat bread & half a banana or a whole banana itself. Depends on how close to bedtime.

Oh ok kind of like shaking up ur calories to speed up ur metabolism. I had a friend who was a trainer That told me something similar when I was in a plateau before. But he had suggested increased calorie days 2 days a week. Im in a plateau now and in eating about 300 cal below my deficit Thanks for sharing.
-
Oh okay so you ended up eating slightly over your deficit calories instead of under. Thanks for clarifying.
-
Can you share what your starting calorie count was & where you ended up at when you kept cutting back before your diet break.

Breakfast is eggs & wheat bread or sometimes i add 2 slices of turkey bacon, or sometimes I add 1oz of turkey deli meat. Snack: pistachios Snack: greek yogurt Lunch might be 5oz of steak with 3oz pinto beans with cilantro (my version of a burrito bowl) 1/2 protein shake After my workout Snack: apples & peanut butter Dinner…

Lol yes that’s intimidating! I took 1 class and my bf gifted me a heavybag as an early Christmas present. Its one that stands by itself. It moves around the garage as i use it which forces me to move around. But when I need to actually move it, its like geez this is heavy.

I would like to point out my Zumba class isnt the typical zumba, its Zumba Strong, theres no dance style cardio in it at all. With that being said Yes I understand the calorie estimation is not exact and is not fully accurate and does not take BMR into account, im not sure if my Polar ft60 is capable of automatically…

Thank u for your perspective. My heart rate monitor definitely motivates me especially since it has a training program for how many calories I should burn in a week, if I have a incomplete training weeks I feel like my monitor is judging me lol. & thanks for the perspective on boxing. My boxing workout is 5min warm up,…

@AnnPT77 okay. I will use my HRmonitor for boxing & zumba strong only & not for strength training anymore & not when I do Hiit. I want to clarify that I looped in zumba as hiit (incorrect on my part) just because of my heart rate levels when zumba is not interval training So its not HIIT, its def not dancing either its…
-
Hm so just curious do you know of any articles that talk about calories burned from HIIT (I also should have mentioned my heart rate monitor is a Polar w chest strap & Hiit is usually hiit + weight lifting in the same workout. To me I just considered Zumba Strong to be hiit because of my heart rate Gets up into high ranges…

Thanks. I would say yes and no. Some combinations im tired like I have ran a mile, other combos no. So good to as far as the boxing aspect but when im doing my actual HIIT videos and zumba it’s definitely a yes. Im tired and winded like Ive ran a mile & I am definitely nott a runner, I hate running.

Thank you!! @manderson27 Sometimes in life we need a little confirmation. Thanks.
-
Yea thats true My heart rate gets up pretty high with boxing so I kinda knew its not fat being burned ^^ I didn’t mean to say burn fat in that comment now that I think of it. Thanks for confirming that my boxing is still useful & im not bulking like my friend said since im not really building Significant muscle. Thanks for…

Sorry one more thing. Is boxing w a heavy bag not helping with my goals one way or another (Whether its helping me burn fat or build muscle) ? @magnusthenerd
-
@magnusthenerd Thank u so much for your comment but can you Simplify That last part, ur suggesting to add weight training to build more muscle? I should have mentioned I workout at home, gym isn’t really an option I know gym is ideal but its just not something I can do. What do you mean by limit the need for learning…

Sheesh sorry that was kind of a long post

IKR. My little weakling 15lb compared to everyone else but I know i have gotten stronger in my core, my legs and everything overall just within this 1 year of working out (actually not a full year more like 9months). I just realized I will be finished with my 4week program by friday so I will be increasing my weights…
-
I workout at home. My only equipment I have are dumbells so 15lb refers to 15lb dumbells that I use for all my exercises within the videos I do. After a month I increase the weight.
-
For those that lifting at home, do you have a gym like setup at home? Or just dumbells &/or a bar.
-
I am using an online program from Fitness Blender.com. It tells me what videos & what routines I should do. I have switched up the way I workout a few different times trying to figure out what works best for me. && daymmmm u ladies lift heavy for real lol. Good job to all of you.
