I started with paying a sitter to come to my home for 4 hours and watch kids. Laps at the pool start at 6am so I can go and get back before my hubs wakes.

I run Half’s and only train up to 6-8 miles a few times a week. I don’t follow a training plan. They stress me out. My last Half I ran the entire time. It takes me about 2H 20MIN to finish. I focus on endurance when I train.

What kind of workouts do you do? I primarily run outdoors & bike.

With 4 kids, working part-time and being a runner, I try to mix it up with some at home workouts but they’re few and far between. Cardio videos!

Well said. As an avid Half runner this distance is a big challenge but not to the point where I’m miserable...and the training isn’t an overload. Running stays enjoyable...mostly

@marikaCL What kinds of distance were your short and long runs? My training for my Half’s are merely endurance buildup. My short runs are 3-5 miles. My long are 6-10 miles. If I can run these distances without feeling completely dead then I do great at my Half’s!

Time is precious to me and with a husband, 4 kidlets, a job...finding time to run is challenging enough. I get about 5 miles 3x a week in right now.

Is that a relay?? That’s crazy. I agree with what you’re saying about training DX2JX2- I agree with what you’re saying regarding training. It’s manageable with Half’s. I don’t see it being enjoyable training that much for a Full.

That’s incredible. I’m hoping to work up to training for my first Marathon but it’s so intimidating...but then again I used to think I’d never be able to run a Half.

@Orphia Thank you! @Blonde_Runner615 I’ve ran too many 5 & 10K’s to count. I’ve been running Half’s since 2015. My second one this year is the end of this month.

I’m trying to run 15+ miles a week but it’s more like 10 or less currently... I’m training for several half marathons. @Blonde_Runner615 @eleanorhawkins How many miles do you average per week? Do you run races? I have a Fitbit but have trouble finding friends who are within my range to compete with.

I’ll add you!

Hey! I think we could help each other with accountability!! I’m in a similar boat. Terrible at food tracking, constantly cheating on my Isagenix nutritional plan. I started my journey to lose weight and get fit! I have about 30 more to lose. I run about 3x a week but need to incorporate some cross training.
