  • @alwaysbloated I'm no health expert but, in the picture you posted of yourself, it's my opinion you look neither "apple" shaped, "pear" shaped, nor any other fruit shape. Nor do your calves appear too wide in my opinion. I think your body shape appears fairly in proportion with your height. Also just my opinion but I…
  • I completed my hour of yoga this morning and will spend the rest of today doing some light cleaning and laundry. That should keep me moving most of this Monday.
  • I've been maintaining my food diary for a while now, and feeling pretty good about what I'm eating and how much... But number 5 is a challenge for me! I'm constantly multi-tasking while eating. I will try to have at least one meal or snack each day and be present and mindful while "just eating" Thank you!
  • My one thing has been just the simple act of relocating my laptop to the kitchen counter and standing while using my computer. It is going very well; I'm standing more and using the computer less!
  • Yesterday's challenge was difficult for me because I don't have an activity tracker (yet), so I rely on my phone to track my steps and log my food diary. I did put my electronics down, though, and ended up sitting & reading a book (too long) on my deck. Oh well, at least I was enjoying our gorgeous day of sunshine! BTW, I…
  • I have a nearby friend who has joined me on almost every M/W/F (since early this February) for about 40-60 mins of video-led yoga. This Monday we did 50 mins of Hatha Flow asanas and afterwards walked about 2 miles at a brisk pace. By the end of my day I had achieved 10,000 steps including all of my casual household…
  • Our only TV is in our downstairs family room. It's cozy in the evenings but too dark and unwelcoming during the day, so I rarely want to watch TV during daylight hours. Reading is the habitual draw for me to sit in my deep oversized chair, whether I'm curled up with a novel or reading Google searches on my laptop.…
  • Thank you @77tes . Yes, I believe you are right. I think it is just the case of one human not being able to fully sympathize with the struggle that another is experiencing, unless they ever had to walk that same mile themselves. I quit smoking (successfully, finally, over 10 years ago) when I found the personal motivation…
  • @themedalist thank you. I joined this community group because my family are not always as supportive as I might wish. They don't carry excess weight and yet they apparently feel sometimes that MY enthusiasm and efforts are either pushing them to join me, or somehow represent a criticism of their own food choices and…
  • After our coffee this morning, dear hubby and I went for a 30 minute walk (and talk), holding hands. Then I spent 30 minutes removing old caulking in our shower, cleaned and prepped for new caulk. I just joined this group yesterday and spent most of today standing at my kitchen counter catching up on these Sit Less Boot…
