  • I'm worried you're in starvation mode.
  • I had to remove hot peppers, and pickled & fermented foods from my diet because they were causing regular and sometimes chronic IBS. After I removed those things from my low-carb/keto diet the IBS went away. You might look into Fermentable Oligosaccharides, Disaccharides, Monosaccharides and Polyols (FODMAPS) and go on a…
  • I lost over 250 pounds from June 14, 2015-June 14, 2016 and have maintained that loss for almost two years with low-carb/keto. Simplistically saying that all you need to lose weight is a calorie deficit is like saying all you need to get to the moon is rocket fuel. If you've already got an understanding of how to do a…
  • Well stated. I would cut even lower while actively losing, plans that allow for more carbs, particularly plans that call for more carbs for the sake of losing at a "safer" rate are being overly cautious.

  • The word you're looking for is spite.
  • Maintaining a one-year 250+ pound keto drop for the last two years.
  • Exogenous ketones are garbage. There are no diet secrets, there are no magic pills.
  • I've been on-and-off Atkins since 2002, became aware of, "LCHF/Keto" in December of 2015. I like low-carb because I don't have to think about it, all the, "allowed" foods are stuff I like to eat, it's easy to identify, "NO" foods, and I've had spectacular results.
  • -From Over 450 Pounds to 180 Pounds -12 Months, June 14, 2015-June 14, 2016 -Maintenance for 2 years at 200 Pounds -Low-Carb for the first six months, Keto for the last six months. No stalls, Average loss over 22 pounds/month. You have to figure out what works best for you; Everyone has a different medical history,…

  • Have you reached your goal? How long have you sustained your current WOE? How serious are you about reaching your goal? And many other variables to take into account. If you've reached your goal and are in maintenance, sure, plan a day to go crazy. I do, about once a month. Just remember that one of the reasons people get…

  • Why bother? The concept hasn't changed. The math hasn't changed. People shouldn't get paid for restating a known quantity.
  • And always have been, one of the reasons I get amused by people that act like the calorie-in/calorie-out model is some kind of ground-breaking, cutting edge science.
  • I get asked a lot of questions by people I know face-to-face and one of the most frequent suggestions I have to make is, "check labels".
  • Marginally, if any. The only people checking labels are people already engaged.
  • The term, "keto" has been usurped by marketers and it pretty useless. When you've got people lining their pockets selling garbage like, "exogenous ketones", it's time to abandon ship. It happens with anything that gets popular, the con artists and shysters take over to profit as fast and as much as possible. I'm currently…
  • There isn't any one diet that's right for everyone. Personal preferences, medical history, psychological perspective all factor in. There's a right diet for everyone, but not one right diet for all.
  • You read it right, I did that. It's funny, no one really says anything about it anymore. I guess because it's been a couple of years.

  • Wootrition and empty calories.
  • If you take it seriously and aren't doddering around, after the first couple of weeks logging and tracking become second nature. I learned how in five minutes, took about a month to form new habits, and have had it on cruise control since. People tend to think in the short term, learn to think in six month blocks instead…
  • I'm on low-carb Lifetime Maintenance. Starting weight: Over 450 pounds 14 June 2015. Lowest weight: 180 Pounds 14 June 2016. Current Weight ~200 pounds for the last two years.
