I've been at this for over 6 years now (5 years of that in maintenance) and my goals have changed/been adjusted a lot over the years. I've had different weight goals, fitness goals, food/nutrition goals etc. All of them have given me something to focus on and keeps me from getting bored, which leads to laziness and…

I bought Rubbermaid Produce Saver containers and they're amazing for fresh produce, including lettuce, spinach, kale etc :)

Thanks!

Actually scales 'lie' all the time, due to all sorts of things not fat gains related. Time of day, digestion periods, constipation, where the scale is placed (different rooms with different floors will mess with it), taking a shower before weighing, using different scales (dr office vs home etc), sodium intake, batteries…

Could you tell me what you normally eat on a day to day basis? I'm mostly plant based and I'm pretty high carb-I don't know how I'd do it low carb? Someone was asking about vegetarian keto in another thread and I didn't think it was possible-I'm intrigued now :) eta: since switching to a more WFPB woe I've noticed a…

I'm currently transitioning to a mostly WFPB woe, and while I'm really enjoying it I have found that I still need to be careful of portion sizes-beans, whole grains, seeds and nuts (pistachios, I'm looking at you :p ), are pretty easy to eat a lot of, and the calories in these things add up quickly. Fruit is another thing…

My doctor has actually gotten after me about coffee-it has a lot of caffeine in it, compared to a can of diet soda. When I go in for my annual there's a form I have to fill out and it asks you how much coffee, tea, soda you drink every day (you assign a number by each). I always get comments about my cups of daily coffee…

But as pp pointed out-how is a bowl of oatmeal 'crap'?
-
I don't track macros but I definitely eat a high carb diet. WFPB is based on fruit, veggies, whole grains, beans etc, so it would be pretty challenging to do it while also following Keto. Vegetarian doesn't necessarily mean WFPB though.
-
I'm currently transitioning to a more wfpb way of eating. I have a daily checklist that I follow, and one of the items on it is a large, mixing bowl sized salad :)
-
Yikes, you're setting yourself up for all sorts of problems eating that low.

I'm 39 years old, in maintenance with a bmi of 21.8, and MFP sets me at around 1,800 calories a day.
-
This was my experience as well-I normalized prediabetc glucose numbers by losing the extra weight. I never focused on my carb intake though. I'm a few years into maintenance now and I eat a higher carb, plant based diet. I've had normal fasting glucose numbers, in the 80s, for over 5 years now. For me, my weight controls…

I've cut back on my weigh-ins, after being in maintenance for several years now, and yep-I'm currently up several pounds :p
-
I lost the extra weight without exercise factored in at all. This taught me how to eat correctly for my calorie goals. Now in maintenance I do some light exercise (walking mostly), for the health benefits, but it's not a factor in my weight management plan. I know several people who went the exercise route to lose/control…

Nuts, seeds, nut butter, full fat Greek yogurt, a piece of chocolate, a serving of ice cream etc etc. It's very easy to get in more calories with little fuss :) I just had two slices of toasted homemade, whole grain bread with PB2 and honey and it was over 400 calories.... eta: another idea is to include a salad with one…

Yep, fat does nothing for me but carbs keep me feeling full for hours. Everyone really is different :)

I'm fortunate because my primary care doctor specialized in nutrition/sports nutrition-medicine before he switched over to general practice. On the check-in form it asks how much caffeine you have daily, and in what context you consume it, and he's always more uptight about my coffee drinking, than my diet coke intake. I…

Ha, you've never met my husband :p I've known him for over 20 years and I've seen him attempt to eat ONE salad-at a wedding reception. It did not end well LOL.

I have a very carb heavy diet (I eat mostly WFPB) and fat tends to be my lowest macro. I'm in excellent health and have a bmi of 21.8. Carbs aren't bad, within the context of a balanced calorie intake. And no, there's not many types of calories :p
-
I lost over 50lbs and improved all my health markers, including correcting a medical condition, by learning how CICO works and hitting the correct calorie deficit I needed, to lose the extra weight. I've now been maintaining the weight loss (current bmi is a 21.8) and excellent health markers (fasting glucose in the 80s,…

I'm celebrating over 5 years of successful maintenance and I don't know what 'nutritional cleansing' even means ;) eta: ahhh, it's a MLM scheme-shocking lol

Many times losing excess weight will improve/correct health issues. It did for me, and it didn't matter what kinds of food I was eating during the process.

Food costs vary greatly based on location, what stores you shop at, time of year etc. Fruit/veggies are usually very reasonable where I live (I paid .99lb for strawberries this week, for example). Also, frozen fruit/veggies are a great option that's usually inexpensive. And frozen may actually contain more nutrients than…

It varies by state. My state does not have a tax on food, except for prepared things (deli case mostly).
