  • I will get checked out, but I worry the doctor will just think I'm a hypochondriac. My sister has coeliac disease, I eat a lot of gluten, hope it's not the case, but could be.
  • I doubt it as I've had this problem for so many years.
  • I have increased my calories now. I've joined the gym and am now planning to take my time and lose the weight I've gained slowly. I know restricting too much the worst possible way to lose weight, just was feeling a little stressed last week.
  • It's definitely a lot worse now I've gained weight, so I think I'll try to get my weight down first, this time with exercise, see if that helps. I don't know if it's just my body type as I've never really seen others with the same problem, not to the same extent anyway. It's like the stomach doesn't belong on my body,…
  • I won't be posting a picture, but I really am not over-exaggerating. Posture is terrible, I slouch a lot. Also, I rarely exercise, although I have joined the gym recently (Monday) and hope to stick to it this time, even if I just work out 3 days a week. Maybe that's it. Lack of exercise.
  • I am in the same situation. I lost around 60 lbs, but have gained back 16 lbs over the last year. I re-joined last Wednesday as I knew that although I've gained weight back, I never want to return to what I was before. It took so much hard work to lose, so much willpower and I couldn't let it all go to waste.
  • Thanks for the tip. I am trying to get some strength training in too but it's not very structured, just doing what I can. Later, once I'm closer to my goal, I'm hoping to get a personal trainer to help me out. I'm far too scared to try working out with a barbell, could just about manage with free weights last time and that…
  • I know, it's so unfair. I wish I was taller :(
  • I was around 105 lbs last year this time and was happy at that weight, just wanted to recomp. Feel very big for my frame at my current weight, even though I know others look great at the same weight, it just looks very big on me. I am happy to go for 0.5 lbs loss per week with an aim of reaching my goal next year sometime.
  • I've heard about people burning 500-700 calories in an hour or less, just assumed I was burning less than everyone else, to be honest.
  • Thanks for this. I have heard of the TDEE method, but have never really used it. I think I'll try the MFP way first - I'm hoping it'll get me to the gym more often as I'll get some added calories  If that's not working will try the TDEE way. Goal is to lose about 20 lbs and then build muscle as I am all flab. That…
  • Thanks, I will give that a try. I think I'll maybe add an additional 100 calories on the days I workout. I think that should cover it as I don't really trust the machines. 0.5 lbs a week is very slow, I was hoping to get to my goal by around November, but guess that's not healthy.
  • Cheat day once every 4 months or so worked for me. I was on here before, lost a fair amount of weight sticking to that. Even went 7 months without a cheat day and felt great, wasn't even tempted to cheat. Once I have one cheat, it rolls into another day, then another and that's why I'm back here trying to lose weight again!
