Swimming is great for recovery too. It's non impact (watch pushing off the wall though) and non load bearing. I recovered from a broken ankle when I was younger mostly through that!

I'm attempting the same! I'm doing the half-Dramathon at the end of October. I can run a 5k happily so currently building up from there.
