  • @lorrpb Thanks!! Your message is very inspiring. And congrats, you are in a wonderful shape. All the best!
  • Thank you all! @sardelsa Yes, I plan to start a bodyweight program in few weeks. If I come back to a decent muscular shape (I'm 51 yo and not working out for some 20 years), I'll continue with weight lifting, eventually. @panda4153 @magnusthenerd I hadn't thought to the visceral fat, but this makes a lot of sense! OK,…
  • I've read that as an example, not as a clearly stated goal.
  • OP, it seems to me that you never answered to the question: what is your goal? Weight loss, weight gain, or maintenance?
  • The same. A calorie deficit. I didn't have a lot of weight to lose, about 10 kg. I've started at the end of March, and I've lost 5 kg up to now. For me, it is very useful to weight in daily, first thing in the morning, and use a trend application (Happy Scale). Very happy doing that: three weeks ago, I've hit a two…

  • I'm "moderate carb" (less than 100g, more around 75g) and I IF Mon-Sat. Only exception in on Sunday, to have lunch with my family. As I have a quite low calorie allotment (1250, as I'm female, short, 51 years old and losing weight), it's a lot easier to stay in track with a time reduced eating window. Some days is 18:6,…
  • I'd say that reading in kg seems easier. The first photo is 164 kg, the second one is 180 kg. Then, you convert in stone (for exemple https://www.thecalculatorsite.com/conversions/common/kg-to-stones-pounds.php): 164 kg = 25 st 11.6 lbs 180 kg = 28 st 4.8 lbs
  • The same here. Very helpful when logging a new recipe.
  • Fine then, thank you. With 0.8 g per pound of goal BW, my intake comes out about 100-105 g, just as you and @Dragonwolf advise (I'm a 51 yo woman, not very active). Thanks folk.
  • Thank you all for the suggestions! :) Very insightful! @Dragonwolf Yes, you're right, my protein sources are indeed quite fatty, I'll change this. I'm not keto, I'd say I'm moderate carb (lower than 100 g) and I don't load pourposely on fat, but it's true that I tend to choose the fattier options for meat and fish…

  • Thanks!
  • This. I would never dare to comment on someone's weight if not invited to, in one way or another. And... congratulations for your loss!
  • Maybe I should start a dedicated thread, but... could you please explain me the difference between keto and carnivore?
  • This. I'd suggest, if you are not, to use a weight trend app (like Happy Scale or Libra) or website (www.weightgrapher.com). This will smooth the weight fluctuations and give you a better picture.
  • Hi. Very different target carbs, indeed. I'm about 75 g, not very strict. I don't go over 100, anyway, except in very rare situations (pizza, tipically, I love pizza ;) )
  • @Orphia Thank you, thank you, thank you so much for sharing! Very inspirational. And congrats for your journey: you are so beautiful. :) <3

  • I've similar stats than you, even if I'm older: 51yo, 64 kg (now), 160 cm. Sedentary work and negligible exercise. I'm on 1250 cal/day since March 25 (same day than you  ) and I've lost a bit more that 2 kg, which is about 0.4 kg/week loss. It's in agreement with my deficit (around 250 cal/week). Lowering the…
  • This! Very meaningful!
  • I agree with @Cassandraw3. Try taking measurements. Remember that the 4 kg you've lost are, in principle, distributed on you entire body, so it can be hard to see. But you're making progress!
  • Oops :( sorry! Forget what I've said, then
  • I also agree. More, 1260 cal/day seems very little food for a guy. I'm female, sedentary, 5'3", 51 yo and about 20 pounds to lose. I'm on a 1250 cal/day diet, and honestly, sometimes I'm quite hungry. I can't imagine a guy eat such a little amount and don't turn insane...
