I don't think weight loss is going to help. I got varicose veins on one leg when I was 21 years old and weighted 104 lbs. Highest weight: 140, current weight: 127, varicose veins: identical to what they were years ago when I was early 20s and 104 lbs.

I use a weight trending website and whatever my trend weight is, that is what I consider my "true weight." I have been logging my trending weight on MFP instead of what the scale says.

Thanks for the help! I didn't think weighing the oil before and after would be right, due to evaporation, but it seems that is the most accurate way to handle it. I will do that, then compare my calculations to similar deep fried foods offered at restaurants and if I'm way off, well, I'll re-think that if it happens.

Mine does this. If the weight is within half a pound, it just reflects the last weight. I keep a three pound weight next to the scale and weigh with it, then weigh without it so I can see my actual weight to the tenth of a pound. Then I record on a weight trender so I can see that I am on track.

I'm on an 18 day streak, with an ultimate goal not to leave MFP when I reach my goal weight, as I did last time I was here in 2012.
