I overlooked this post, but wanted to add a comment. Yes, in my own research I found that certain members of the Jain religion do in fact practice fruitarianism as a form of ahimsa: The act of nonviolence towards all living beings. So with that I guess it goes without saying that Jains have the strictest dietary code of…

Back when I was trying to lose weight I would strictly count calories at 1200 during the week and incorporate a cheat day once a week. On my cheat day I wouldn't count calories and would binge on whatever I desired. I would guestimate some cheat days were close to 6000 calories. I eventually lost the weight I wanted to…

Oh, I wasn't saying I was going to be a fruitarian or even carnivore yet! I should have posted one thread comparing both diets for people to dissect the extreme ends of dieting such as all-fruit or all-meat. Good luck on your weight loss journey. I know 30 pounds might seem like a daunting task, but if you feel better having the support of others, I can totally understand that. I'm from Philadelphia and looking to use MyFitnessPal for health reasons, but definitely support others looking to lose weight! You can do this!

-
Did you re-adjust your activity level to when you set your calorie intake to maintenance? 1400 doesn't sound right to maintain. It sounds more like your BMR. MFP suggested 1700 calories to maintain, but what formula did you use to calculate your calorie needs?
