Ketorade is great. I add a quarter teaspoon of lite salt to my workout bottles, and do 2-3 of those. Works wonders for post workout recovery. I don't feel dangerously dehydrated.

It was a combination of skimming posts and seeing K and the suggestion of leafy greens, both of which pointed me to Potassium, both of which also apply to vit k.

You know, I started keto for the weight loss claims everyone made/makes. I'm staying keto because I have never felt better as an adult than I do now. Now blood sugar issues, slow burning candle of energy for days. I can skip meals for much longer without getting low blood sugar (today I went until 3pm, that's abnormal for…

I always struggle to make sure I get enough, after having issues with severe cramps most of my life, if I don't keep on top of it. These zipfizz things I've been taking have given me almost 1g of potassium per tube. Coupled with the spinach and greens I already eat, ketorade with lite salt that is soon to be no-salt, and…

The way they're talking about this storm, you could cross country ski your way there tomorrow if you live down south.

I think you also might want to consider the long term benefits. Mom isn't as stressed, she has more energy, and she's setting a good life example for us to follow by starting lifelong exercise early. I can only imagine how hectic life is, but I think you'll look back on this and thank yourself for finding 20 minutes a day…

Yeah, not making bread replacements was the right decision for me, and I'm glad i made that at like day 5 instead of now. I'm 146 days into this, 144 keto days, and my carb splurges are usually for higher carb veggies. Collards are worth the carbs though. Carrots too. 10 carbs, 6 net, from yesterday came from eating 1 can…

Carbs and Fat are a limit, protein is your goal. That's what I read and it really made sense. I try and hit my protein numbers, and then do a fat bomb if I am actually hungry and in need of some fat outside of my main meals. I could be totally wrong, as I've been winging it on keto since July. But it's working pretty well…

Hey, we started near each other. 18 July for keto. Isn't life with low carb pretty great? Congrats on your progress so far! You might also want to checkout the keto group on here, as it seems to be a little more active. Good luck on hitting your goal weight! I am a year or so out from mine, but keeping on with what is…

What you’re describing is what people that aren’t used to working out forget: you don’t have to do 30 minutes, an hour, 3 hours at the gym. 5-10 minutes of HIIT or just basic school workouts like jumping jacks, push-ups, squats, and so on, are all body weight only, so totally portable and require no setup. Any activity is…

If/when I hit my goal weight in a year or so, it'll be so much easier to have my own go to of recipes so I can just hit my numbers and not play the "fit the macros" game each day. Maintenance and not changing my numbers should be easier, I'd think. Right now, I'm adjusting every 4-5kg or so, and my older days aren't…

It's all a brine, or some offshoot of it.

Yeah there are so many recipes for alternates out there. I generally avoid the ones that call for a lot of alternate flours, as my carb issue isn't solved by slightly lower carb items. But for others, it works fine. https://www.ditchthecarbs.com/keto-cheese-crackers/ Decent recipe, 1g net per cracker it appears. That's NOT…

8oz 85/15 ground beef (pre-cooked weight) with 20g of colby jack cheese, shredded, and made into 2 patties, convection baked for 40 minutes at 375ºF, coupled with 2 cups of raw spinach, 1tbsp ranch dressing, and 5tsp of sugar free ketchup. Brings me in at 6 carbs total, 47 fat/ 49 protein and around 650 calories. So like a…

Can you meal prep for a set amount of days a week, maybe 2-3, giving yourself an hour or so 2-3 times a week to workout? Ideally, get something that you could do while helping the kids with homework? Maybe light treadmill, stationary bike, free weights?

Quest protein chips are pretty dang good. Good snack size. I've made my own pepperoni and cheese chips before. There are recipes to do cheese chips on a baking sheet/jelly pan at home using piles of shredded cheese.

Try making a mix of a keto friebdly sweetener, almond milk, and heavy cream or half and half, and pour that into your coffee. The muscle milk I drink for the protein and potassium has such a sweet chocolate flavour, it makes it like I am drinking creamer again. There are options for folks that loved their creamer. Cream…

I think a lot of these items were what we were told we should like as kids of the 80s or 90s. All the advertising made it seem like not having these foods meant you were a loser with a poor lunch. I've gone back and checked nutritional info on a bunch of things.. and it's bad. Just look at any extreme burgers, pizzas,…

Good luck and I hope you figure out what works best for you! At least your closest store isn't an Albertson's. That's for sure.. When I lived in Oregon, that was mine, and RIP my wallet for food.
