64 year old fellow veteran here. Congratulations on recommitting yourself to a better life. Yea, I don't feel like 64. I plan on feeling that way for a while.

Good luck! I'm retired military myself. The transition was a little scary but turned out to be very satisfying. You'll do just great I'm sure.

Welcome back!

I have been running for over thirty years now. Occasionally motivation can be hard to come by. But once you take the first few steps you just get back in the groove. Its the diet that's hard to get a grip on. Trying to lose a stubborn 12 pounds myself. I've said you can't outrun a bad diet!

Good luck! Willing to help anyway I can.

An ol Air Force veteran here. Welcome to MFP. It's a good tool if you use it right!

Howdy from Texas! Tracking does help you become aware of your macros, also provides revelation related to portion size. Which is what most of us tend to get wrong when estimating how much we eat. Weighing your food is critical when tracking.

I have to watch the ol ticker myself. I have PVC's and my father passed away die to stroke. So I work on a heart-healthy diet and get plenty of exercise.

Love to quote music, trying to relate great lines to things that happen in everyday life. Sweat is good!

Welcome. You can definitely find a few of the right people to talk to here about your health and fitness.

Yea. That's what it is all about. Lifestyle. Gotta make it so it works for you, forever.

This is the place to talk about your health and fitness goals/priorities. Just make a few good friends you feel comfortable with and your good to go!

Fellow wine drinker here. Spent some time in Napa and love the Cabs. We have a huge wine industry here in Texas now with some awesome wines. Also recently bought a nice Canon EOS R Mirrorless Digital as I intend to get back into photography after I retire soon. I work out very regularly and adhere to a WFPB diet.

Know how it is. Despite a steady running and working out I got 12 pounds back. Can't out run a bad diet!

Seems like you are doing many of the right things, specially educating yourself on what you are eating. Probably the most important thing you can do.
-
You're right. A couple of years ago a had a nice tight group of guys/girls. It helps.

I was also thirty something thirty years ago when I had two young ones. They are both grown and on their own. But I also have a 14 year old son and I need to keep that thirty something mind and body to keep up.

I run and work out 4-5 times per week. Yet I still managed to gain about 10lbs this year. Guess its time to track everything again to make sure I get back on track and give those 10lbs back (plus a couple of extra). Had a great little group a couple of years ago, my fault they are gone now, but am ready and willing to do…

Turned 64 this year and I feel pretty good. Run three days a week with some resistance training (weights/kettlebells/etc) twice per week. Trying to lose about 8lbs of fat to get in the "zone". Good to see so many getting at it!
