  • I will say it again Connie. You inspire me. My knees hurt but I haven't had replacement yet since I was much better when I lost the weight before. So I am hoping that will be the case again. I am walking fine but I couldn't get up if I fell without something to pull myself up on. I have trouble getting up off a chair if I…
  • Thank you, Connie, for the inspiration. You have done incredibly well to lose 109 pounds in two years. It's nice to know that even binge eaters can be successful in their later years. I really want this to work this time as a forever life style. I just turned 71 in May. I don't want to be carrying all this extra weight…
  • Hi Everyone, I am back. I lost 60 pounds in 2019 and have put at least 40 back on. Very depressing. I was just starting to feel good. My knee weren't hurting as much and I could do a lot more things easily. I have done this so many times before. I'm definitely missing an important part of the puzzle to keeping it off. But…
  • I love all the positive comments here. I had a good day despite the heat here. I like the resistance band idea. I've never used them but I'm willing to give it a try. Thanks for the idea. :)
  • I hope everyone is doing well today. I am doing ok so far. My calories are slightly higher today than yesterday. But all healthy eating. I will watch my dinner serving so I won't be too far over my 1200 calorie goal. Already have 7,663 steps. I'll head out for my afternoon walk with the dog soon so I will easily get in my…
  • I'm feeling good after having a good day. I got in 10,000 steps and made my calorie goal of 1200. Drank all my water. So I'm off to a good start. Now I'm going to give the dog one last walk of the day and then relax. Hope you all had a good day. :)
  • Barbiecat, Thank you for all the good advice!! I agree staying active is very important. And with all the hot weather we've had it's even more important than normal to get going early. I would love to keep the sweets out of the house since they are my weakness. But my husband loves his sweets and he is thin so he can…
  • Thank you Annliz23, My little Addy was my constant companion for 15 years. I miss her so much. I have just gotten another Australian Terrier so that has helped me want to get back on track and get healthy.
  • Hi Everyone! I'm back. I really need to be serious and lose this weight. My knees are beginning to hurt again. I can use some friends to help cheer me on and of course I will do the same for them. I lost 60 pounds and then with the stress of losing my dog and then the virus I have put back about 35 pounds. Wow!! Can I feel…
  • Best wishes for success bethe!! If you're looking for support you've come to the right place. This is a very supportive group. Everyone is trying to help each other out and give good advice about what works. I have the exercise part of weight lose down since I've always been active. But the food end always gives me…
  • I don't think there's any set formula. I think we all have to find what works for us and try to do it as healthily as we can. Especially if we have a lot to lose and our health is at risk until we lose a good amount of it. As long as you are feeling good and have lots of energy you should be on the right track.
  • Thanks for continuing to give us great articles. And I agree ... drown that fitbit if it says No active minutes for cleaning!!! LOL
  • 💙 Thanks!!!
  • Click on the "Quote button in the bottom line. [/quote] Thanks! You can tell I will never make computer geek. I appreciate the help!
  • Just got back from a walk. It's overcast here but spring like. I agree. I have never gotten in to threads like this either but I am enjoying this one. Everyone is so positive and ready to help each other out that it really gives me incentive to stick with a healthy diet. I also read that article about NOOM in Good…
  • Welcome to all the new people. Our group is growing all the time. You all have so much to share. I always leave feeling like I have gained new ideas and support from all of your comments. 😊 I had a successful day yesterday even though we had a house full of goodies to feed our guests. That is usually enough to sabotage my…
  • Welcome, Lisa, this is a good group. I hope we can all inspire each other to success. getthebabeba.. , thanks for the article. I am hearing " mindful eating " from many directions lately. I have been trying it and do see a difference. Today I have company at the house and I have been dreading the fact that there are lots…
  • Welcome to all of the new people who have joined us. 🙋‍♀️ Everyone is so positive and seem to be doing well. Annliz23, congrats on the loss. 👍 I know what it's like to do all the right things and the scale stays stuck in the same place. It's so discouraging. I've had another good day on plan. Every day I get by…
  • I'm having a good day. I was able to get back to the exercise equipment today after a 5 day break due to a cold. So far today I've been able to control my portions and eat healthy food. So I'm hoping for another good day. I also read the article. Thanks for sharing. It is so true that words are very powerful. The more…
  • Congrats on the 3 pounds lost, mystepstobea. You're off to a good start. 👍 Glad you had a good day Linda. It does feel good when the day is a success. This is my third good day in a row. I am beginning to feel in control again. 👩‍🦳 This thread really helps!! Jim, you are an inspiration to us all. You prove that it can be…
  • This is a great thread!! It's nice to hear that I'm not alone in the problems I've faced. We're all struggling together. Keep up the rambling, getthebabeba. I enjoy hearing all of your theories. It gives us all food for thought. I'd like this to be the last time I make this journey to a healthy weight so the more thought…
  • getthebabeba...I can identify with all that you have said. I have fought the weight loss battle many times. I have won many times and I have lost many times. Your mind set definitely determines whether you win or lose. Getting your mind in the right state to say " no , I won't put the m&m's in the cart FOR COMPANY because…
  • Welcome, Gigigator7, I am also 69 soon to be 70. So sorry to hear about your husband. I can't imagine that loss. But you are right to make your health your top priority. I also have a lot to lose. So hopefully we can support each other and get healthy together. I have found this group to be very supportive and inspiring. I…
  • Eating right is important but like you, Ann, I have always been active and have been careful about what I eat but unfortunately tend to eat too much. So I have to control my portions. I do well when I do that but it is a difficult thing for me to manage all the time. I'm working hard to gain more control of my portion…
  • You are all very inspiring. You have wonderful attitudes. If we're all their for each other we can succeed at this battle to get healthy. At our ages we can't afford to put it off any longer. Let's all have a healthy day tomorrow. 😊
  • The same thing happens to me when I eat all the goodies that are present when you get together with friends or family. I never feel good the next day. You would think that would make me think next time and not indulge. But it never seems to work that way. LOL The good news is I am still trying to work on it. Maybe some day…
  • I so enjoy the quotes. They are all so true. I am doing good with the exercise but can't seem to stay consistent with the eating. I have a good day of controlled eating then the next day I start out well only to binge later on in the day. I'm working on trying to eat healthy foods and stay away from the sugar which tends…
  • The scale can certainly be the enemy some days!!! LOL But then there are the days after a successful week when it can also make us smile and feel great achievement. 😅 Wishing everyone success!!
  • mrshadsall, I can relate. I have lost about 55 pounds and hit a plateau at the end of February. I have been gaining and loosing the same few pounds since then. I have tried exercising more, eating more and less, and changing my routine but nothing has worked so far. I had hoped that when the weather got better I would be…
  • My knees were so bad that I was in pain all the time and walking was very difficult. I knew if I didn't do something I would no longer be able to be active and do the things I wanted to do. Scary to let it get to that point. With a cortisone shot and the loss of 28 pounds I'm already feeling much better. I'm hoping to…
