i just bought a plant based Pure Protein brand can of strawberry flavored protein powder and it was disgusting! tasted like pure chalk. i ended up throwing it all away and repurposing the can. so that's my recommendation. DON'T buy that stuff! i have tried some hemp protein powder that wasn't too bad but i think it was…

they sell little cans of chopped mild green chilies. a teaspoon or two added to soups or chilies or cornbread or whatever lends a nice flavor without much heat. i personally don't really like the flavor of anaheim or poblano peppers but there is a cheese stuffed poblano dish that is available at most mexican restaurants…

no more than 15 gms of fat per meal and make sure you take your vitamin with A, K and one other one I forget which one in it EVERY night or else. I took mine almost every night while taking Alli and I ended up giving myself a vit A definciency anyways. (one sign of it is little bumps on your skin) (And I was only on it for…

you can microwave them too in their skins

what about some chair yoga or taichi/qigong exercises? they aren't really what will get your heart racing but i think they would help your circulation and to get your body healing and are better than nothing. i find qigong and taichi exercises a tremendous help to increasing energy and feelings of well being. real classes…

i am lucky i guess i haven't had a reaction to metformin. i am also taking invokana which is working really good at controlling my blood sugar. (the metformin alone wasn't enough) i take one invokana a day in the morning and a metformin twice a day. just the reality of having diabetes. i suppose it's better than having to…

high kicks. like a hundred of them regularly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3EiE_z4qsAs if you can do them safely.

i use a cast iron pan and it seems to be helping. i also read that eating chestnuts helps with anemia. they have them roasted and peeled at the store or else fresh chestnut season is coming up. my iron hasn't been low since doing these two things.

lots of salad, microwave steam veggie bags, michelina's type frozen entrees, veggie hot dogs (you can microwave them), progresso soups, baked bean cans, lots of choices. cooking for one is easy and if you feel like actually cooking you can freeze leftovers or invite a friend over for dinner/lunch.

low carb doesn't work for me at all. what i do lose comes back on the minute i touch a piece of bread and the cravings hit so hard i end up bingeing on carbs sometimes which doesn't help. low carb per diets like the atkins diet go around 30-40 carbs a day max. i'd consider what you are thinking a reduced carb diet rather…

I find exercise that doesn't make you all sweaty to be ineffective at weight loss. So, yeah, yoga is great for conditioning, but isn't really max cardio. I find walking helpful but only if i walk for at least 45 minutes at a decent pace like 3x a week minimum. baby doesn't like going for walks in a stroller?

well, i'm not a bride to be, but i just wanted to say I love the title of this thread! also, I recently acquired a 5 lb kettlebell at Five Below and it's amazing how quick you build muscle with one of those and it's fun!

egg white omelette - hi protein low calorie. i like mine with chopped tomato and fresh basil or parsley and a little cheese.

my mom got a gastric band. she lost about 60 pounds before she had some kind of esophageal complication and had to have it removed. she probably lost 60 pounds because she basically threw up everything that wasn't a cake-like texture. she also couldn't eat meat. she'd chew it up and spit it out. it was disgusting. she has…

I think it all boils down to that we have a choice. I've come to realize that my bf being around makes me stress eat. Now that I know that i have this problem, I can consciously make the decision to not eat out of stress and do something else to placate myself. I bought a 5 pound kettlebell and a resistance band. Using…

Indian-Style Beans + Peppers recipe from Better Homes and Gardens Crockery Cooker Cookbook. ( I added some homemade barbecue sauce and salt and used veggie bacon.)

yes it is possible. i haven't reached my ultimate goal (I am soon to be 43 years old) but i have reached small goals 10 and then 20 pounds+ so far. it is taking a lot longer than weight loss did when i was young and could lose 20 pounds in a month, but progress is progress. just be patient with yourself and my ultimate…

maybe you could ask her to lock them up?

eat fruit instead. (still has sugar, but less) like bananas, peaches, an apple with your peanut butter.. also, when you do eat something sweet, eat some protein along with it like some nuts or meat or something. this helps to keep a balance in your body.

i did 1200 calories for awhile. the things that sustained me was going to bed early every night (like 8pm lol)and telling myself i could eat this or that after i lost some weight.

i am vegetarian too and that has turned me off from trying a keto diet even though i've heard great things about it reversing diabetes. i developed diabetes after eating nothing but watermelon and cola gummies for like two weeks straight (my mom has it too so i was predisposed) so i would recommend watching your sugar…

i like my oatmeal kind of plain with just cinnamon and brown sugar and a splash of milk or soymilk. some healthy snacks i like - a peeled celery stalk, boiled lima beans or edamame with a sprinkle of salt, chinese tea eggs, roasted chickpeas (Biena ranch flavor), couple slices of swiss cheese or a string cheese stick,…

you know actually baking soda is much milder than toothpaste. if you google it it says baking soda is like a 1or a 7 where toothpaste is generally a 50-100 on the grittiness scale 100 being the more abrasive.

let's see breakfast - a peach, coffee and two vegetarian soy sausage patties lunch - 1/4 cup rice congee style with a half a can fried gluten with peanuts and soy sauce pickles dinner - a stuffed pepper and some walnuts and half a pudding cup of homemade fudgsicle snacks - a handful of garlic peanuts in the shell and a…

well, i think it's about comfort (not over-over-stuffed mind you) what's better than a full tummy and a nice nap?? when i get the urge to feel stuffed full i eat like two whole sauteed zuchinnis or summer squashes with some garlic and sometimes parmesan cheese. it's a nice way to feel stuffed without eating too many…
