Don’t eat under 1200 a day. That’s a minimum number of calories the average woman should be consuming. I’m a shortie (5’ 0”) and started out with 70 lbs to lose (now I’m working on the last 28!) so I eat between 1200 and 1300 a day. The first probably 2 weeks of eating 1200-1300 calories sucked and I was hungry a lot of…

That’s awesome!

Thanks so much! That sounds like exactly what I’ve been experiencing. I will try out those stretches

I thought that but the pain is never on the bottom of my foot, it’s on the back of the heel and none of the stuff I read about plantar fasciitis mentioned that.

My next mini-goal is completing the Jillian Michaels 30-Day Shred in January. I did really well with my diet in 2018 and lost 28 lbs. Now I want to do just as well with my exercise while I lose the last 28 lbs.

If 1230 seems too low (and it is pretty low!) maybe try a less aggressive weight loss. Try for 1.5 or even 1 lb a week. Yes, you may lose a little more slowly but if it's a more do-able number of calories for you then you'll be able to stick with it so in the long run you'll be better off.

I didn't want to make a new account and lose all my recipes and food entries so I just deleted all my old weight loss entries. No, it doesn't erase reality but it helped put me in a "fresh start, don't dwell on past mistakes" mindset.

Hi! I’d like to join! I’m 28. I’ve lost 42 lbs since my highest weight and have another 28 to go! I know 2019 is the year I’m finally going to hit my goal weight. Ideally, I’d like to hit my goal before my sister-in-law’s wedding in May. I started running a bit in September when I re-started focusing on losing weight. I’ve…

Start walking! Build your way up to running. Everyone starts off not being able to do much. When I started running this year, I couldn’t even do 1 like. Now I’m up to 4 and planning on a half marathon in September.

Starting right before the holidays is always a disaster. It’s hard to make changes to your daily habits when it’s a time of year where many days you aren’t doing your norm. Just keep tracking the calories. Do your best each day to make good choices.

What an amazing transformation! You look fantastic!

I was just talking with my husband last night about how I struggle to push myself outside of my comfort zone because I'm afraid I'll fail or embarrass myself so I end up just not trying at all. So I registered for a half-marathon in September. So now I've got $90 invested and friends and family know about it, I pretty much…

I love my Instant Pot. I got it less than a week ago and have already used it twice. My crockpot is awesome too but I do have to be more on top of planning things out to use it. My instant pot is great when I haven't bothered to think of dinner and need something faster. Both the recipes I made in it were pretty easy and…

I weigh daily. First thing in the morning (well, after going to the bathroom). I use the app Happy Scale to give me a moving average of my weight and I feel like it's given me a much healthier perspective on the scale. Honestly, I'm much less obsessed/worried/stressed out about the scale when I weigh daily than when I used…

I'm training for my first half-marathon on September 14 2019!

I got one for Christmas and totally love it already! I made this beef stew that turned out great: https://pinchofyum.com/instant-pot-beef-stew This recipe was pretty good but I felt like it needed some more flavor (I added chili garlic sauce): https://www.noshtastic.com/instant-pot-firecracker-chicken/ I still have lots of…

I agree with the above poster. Put it at lightly active. See how that works for about a month. If you want to lose faster, you can drop it down to sedentary.
-
I would repeat the missed week.

Not really. It is nice not to have the temptation around though. I usually just buy snack foods for my husband that he likes but I don't really care for.
-
Not really. I walk to my apartment complex’s little gym and then do some stretches before getting on the treadmill but then I just start running. When I run outside I don’t walk at all (well at the start, sometimes I do have to walk in the middle of my runs!)

I got an Instant Pot for Christmas and I’m obsessed with it! I made stew in it the first time I used it and it turned out perfect! And I made an Asian chicken dish last night that was pretty good too - meat turned out perfect but the recipe needed some tweaking for more flavor. Between the Instant Pot and my Crockpot, I…

I run on the treadmill. I know lots of people hate the treadmill but I really don't mind it. I either put on a good playlist (for a harder run) or listen to one of my favorite podcasts (lighter runs).

Congrats! That's awesome!

Personally, I think calorie counting is the easiest. I can eat whatever I want as long as it fits into my calorie allotment for the day so I don't really have to deal with cravings or trying to make any sort of complicated meal plan. I actually haven't changed what I eat too much, just how much I eat. Weighing and…

Highest Weight: 190 Challenge Goal: 139.4 Ultimate Goal: 120 Dec 16 - 149.4 Dec 23 - 147.7 Dec 30 - 148.4 I'm up a bit because of the holiday, but only a tiny amount so I'm not worried. I signed up for a half-marathon last night to give myself a fitness goal to work toward in 2019. I'm super nervous about it but also…

Lost 28 lbs (28 to go!) Actually stuck to my plan when I started in September. This is by far the longest I've stuck with trying to lose weight. Had a personal best running distance of 4 miles

Not enough. Going to try doing Jillian Michael's 30-Day Shred every day in January to get my butt kicked into gear and make working out more of a habit and then settle into a routine of running 3 days a week and strength training 2 days a week. During the times I was really good about getting my workouts in, I worked out…

Just through exercise. Your general day-to-day activity is already taken into account by MFP when you set your activity level.
