  • 2 lbs is good! Yes, some people have a bigger drop at the start but not everyone. I didn’t. Some people even see the scale spike up a bit.
  • I’ve lost 30 lbs without drinking a single protein shake. I do eat veggies but I’m certainly far from having enough veggies in my diet. I’m sure I could stand to eat a few more salads!
  • This is a pretty typical thing in life - people grow apart. True life-long friends are a rarity. You’re growing and changing as a person and it sounds like in a very good way! You don’t have to say *kitten* them and cut them out completely but maintaining a relationship as close as you always had just may not be a…
  • We all have bad days. Leave it in the past! Like you said, tomorrow is a fresh start!
  • I’m registered for my first half in September! It’s the Revel Big Cottonwood race in Utah. It’s a really pretty area so should be a nice run :)
  • https://www.womenshealthmag.com/fitness/a19913734/running-outside/ This article talks about the differences in calorie burn. It’s not especially dramatic. Upping the incline on the treadmill can help reduce the difference even more. I’ve just been using the running numbers and it hasn’t stopped me from losing weight. If…
  • For weight loss, diet should definitely be your focus. But in terms of health and what your body will look like once you lose the weight - exercise is important too! When I started losing weight I was primarily focused on diet, my exercise was really sporadic and not especially focused. But I still lost 28 lbs. Now that I…
  • Done with day 8! So glad there’s only 2 more days of level one!
  • Challenge Check-In Monday - 2.5 miles on treadmill & 30 DS Tuesday - Day 8 of 30 Day Shred Got off to a slow start this morning but I felt really good in today’s workout! Still sticking to my calories and feeling positive about how things are going in January 😀
  • In my experience, it hasn’t been that different. For whatever reason I feel like I’m going so much slower on the road but then my average pace at the end is pretty much what I set it to on the treadmill (I usually just set one pace and go) so it must be some kind of mental thing. It’s way too cold and icy for me to be…
  • I do a lot of stretching. I stretch when I wake and before bed. Before and after each workout. And I’ve added yoga into my routine.
  • Does your school have a gym? Most have one that’s included in tuition then you wouldn’t have to spend anything.
  • No, it’s not 6 lbs of day gained 3 days. Definitely some of it is water weight. But why are you even weighing yourself on vacation?! If you’re worried make some healthier breakfast choices but don’t stress about it.
  • Goal: Weigh 120 lbs (maybe 115, I’ll see how I feel at 120). Generally, I want to be healthy and happy with my body. I have a lot of motivations - my health, vanity, my sister-in-law’s wedding in May, doing a half-marathon in September, wanting to try for a baby in 2020 To measure success I look at a few different factors…
  • Weighing yourself every morning is not “a big no no” in fact there’s plenty of research supporting it as a way to help keep on track and manage your weight. It’s only a problem if it’s negatively impacting your mental health. I wouldn’t be concerned about 5 lbs in your first week. A lot of people see a pretty big drop…
  • Gyms are gross. A friend of my mother-in-law’s picked up the same thing at her gym. It’s scary!
  • I think you need to step away from the scale. While weight daily can be helpful for some, it’s clearly demotivating for you. Focus on hitting your calorie goal and being more active for 2 weeks. Then try stepping on the scale again. Or throw the scale out completely and focus on other ways of measuring progress like: -…
  • Rarely. I don’t have a big sweet tooth. I do keep a pint of Byers raspberry chocolate swirl in the freezer for when I get a craving though! But even then I keep to just one serving size.
  • Today was my first day back to running. Running 2.5 miles before 30 DS definitely made things more challenging! But I got day 7 done. I’m really feeling ready to move on to level to but I figure I might as well do the last 3 days of level 1 otherwise I might get really bored of doing level 2 extra long.
  • I love kickboxing! Kicks my butt every time, it’s a great workout!
  • I thought I really didn’t care about that until the other day when I realized for the first time in a long time I weighed less than him and I am so psyched about it!
  • My sister-in-law is getting married in May and asked me to do reading. I’d love to be at or near my goal weight when I have to stand up in front of all those people!
  • Weekly Weigh-In 12/31 - 147.5 01/07 - 146.2 Down a little over 1 lb which is great because that Dec 31 number doesn’t account for all the alcohol I had later that day. The number on the scale was much higher on the first! Challenge Check-In Monday - 2.5 miles on treadmill & 30 DS This was rough today! I had originally…
  • My understanding of the post was that he bought the soda for her. In my opinion, that’s different than buying it for himself. If someone chooses to do Keto, it would not be supportive for their partner to come home and say “Hey, I picked up some pasta for you today, here you go” I never said or even implied that no…
  • I usually log the night before or in the morning. I don’t necessarily stick exactly to what I pre-logged though so I’ll make adjustments throughout the day.
  • I think she’s doing C25K first then moving on to the 10K one so it’s the last week before moving on to the 10K plan.
  • There are like a million dancing games. And I’m pretty sure they just make fitness ones too. I’d just go onto Amazon and search for dancing and/or fitness games for whatever console you have (not sure which version of the Xbox you have). A bunch will pop up. Pick one with decent reviews.
  • I would just have another chat with him about your goals and the changes you are trying to make. Yes, it was nice of him to think of you but clearly he didn’t think that hard since he brought you something that he knew you were trying to cut out. My husband used to bring me Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups occasionally as a…
  • I eat back my exercise calories. So on days I workout I do eat more but it’s still a net of 1200-1300.
