When I REALLY want to up the ante, I'll throw in 30 seconds of jump rope in between every lifting set. Haven't done this in years though, I'm all strength based on lifts now so I'm working at 80% + RPE on everything except warm ups, I take like 3 minutes between sets now.

I wouldn't worry about a name...that goal seems HUGE - it's ok to have an end goal in mind, but right now you might want to start small. Like 10 lbs and 10 miles. It's easier to achieve a big goal if you break it up into many small goals. That way it doesn't seem so far away. Like I'm cutting right now, my end goal is…

My trick? I work outdoors and have to pack a lunch. Doesn't matter if I am sick of it or not, I eat what I bring or I go hungry.

@wiigelec My programming is actually really stripped down due to working 12 hour days, 5 days a week. Shoulders - 11 sets log press (2 warm up, 1-3 at 95%+ RPE, the last 5 at 70% rpe with a burnout set at the end.) 4 to 8 rounds of sledgehammer tire hits as cool down. Arms/shoulder accessories... not worth typing, curls…

Thanks for all the replies - didn't mean to double thread. I have looked into hook grip, seems painful but I'll give it a shot. @Chieflrg - I do plan to compete in some local strongman stuff, however all that equipment is allowed except maybe straps on a farmers walk (that's up to the organizer). As for the shoes thing, I…

Aspiring strongman actually, not powerlifter. My bench is garbage and will stay garbage due to too many shoulder injuries on both sides. All that stuff is allowed in strongman, plus straps are allowed on most carrys and deadlifts. I've just been pushing it as far as I can raw, I told myself I wouldn't grab that stuff until…

For meditation, put my phone on airplane mode and stare at a candle while focusing on my breathing for 10 minutes. If my mind starts to drift, I do 10 - 7 second inhale/11 second exhale breaths with my eyes closed and then re-open them. It's great because I don't have a lot of time, but I can always find 10 minutes. I try…

But you can just go catch those...and you get to fish while you do it.

All of the peanut butter. All of it.

I weigh 2x daily (morning, and night) - gives me an idea of daily fluctuations. I measure whenever I feel like it, usually once a week. While I was from the hip maintaining and going through a lot of beer partying over the summer I measured more often and would do a 1000cal deficit day every once in a while to undo the…

Douchey, but my arms. Decently big and covered in tattoos - I own like 20 tank tops and even in the winter I wear them under my flannels and hoodies so if they come off I'm in a tank.

I do actually think eating the same things at the same times every day is underrated. For cutting at least, but even on maintenance or a bulk I still tend to do it a lot.
-
You just described cutting while maintaining a high activity level and strength training 😉

I struggle with bipolar disorder, anxiety, and substance abuse...so I get you. I'll give you some tips that helped me. I realized that Lifting is literally the backbone of my life. My work ethic, my diet, my alcohol intake, my confidence, my caring about my appearance...EVERYTHING. when I fell into depression 3.5 years…

Sorry. That came across as harsh. I believe it though...and I believed it when I was 300lbs. It was not ok to me. The kind of body positivity that I do believe is ok is that not everyone has to look shredded/model perfect. Or people who've lost weight/mums with kids...they shouldn't be ashamed of a bit of stretch marks or…

When I go into a cut I tend to eat pretty much the same things at the same times every day. It's easy, efficient, and extremely effective.
-
I have not considered a hook grip I'll look into it. I've avoided using a belt thus far because my core seems to be able to handle everything just fine.
-
Today will be chest. Bench/incline DB/cable flyes/sledge tire hits as cool down
-
Against. I've been everything from borderline underweight to overweight to fit to obese to fit/strong but still slightly overweight (currently) There is nothing acceptable about being obese.
-
Alternate. My grip is usually not weak at all, just yesterday - although I do have some nerve damage in my left hand but that's not even the one that failed yesterday.

When I was cutting 70lbs I was extremely accurate. When I went to maintenance/mini bulk I shot from the hip and did mental math for protein intake and that was it. I'm cutting 20ish lbs now and I'm fairly accurate but I wing it sometimes. Like my breakfast burrito this morning had way too much tortilla so I tore off a big…

Straps and a belt. I said no gear until 500lbs at minimum but I managed to push past that into the 520s. I'm still not sure it's necessary but the fact that I've dropped 530 twice now might mean I'm at the limit of my forearm strength.

No. There is no easy way out. The only time I would ever reccomend electrical stimulation like a tens unit would be as a rehab sort of thing. If you want abs, train your core 2 - 3x a week and diet down to a BF % where abs become visibly defined
-
If you have loose skin you just have to deal unfortunately. I'm absolutely sure that if I cut to contest bodybuilding bodyfat levels I wouldn't look good due to my last depressive episode so I'm just not going to bother. Lowest I'll probably go is 16%.
-
Also that, yes.
-
^what chief said. Without knowing your routine though, I'd like to point out that suspended ab work (as in hanging from a pull-up bar) is far more bang for your buck than anything you can do on a mat.

I like the irony of the dislike on this comment.

The nice part about fat burners...they're nothing but caffeine and useless herbs that don't do much, so stopping them should also not do much except give you a mad caffine headache for a few days. If you like the energy levels, just drink extra coffee...black preferably.
-
Core-isolation exercises are largely unimportant if you're doing heavy barbell work. However, getting extremely defined abs/obliques takes a good bit of core isolation work and a ton of work in the kitchen.

I'm glad you're aware you should stop. Those products are mostly caffeine and useless herbs that don't do much. My best guess (I'm not a doctor, you should talk to one) is that not much will happen beyond caffeine wothdrawl.
