No, I only log when cutting weight. I was 227 when I quit logging and I did a mini-dirty bulk/ some maintenance through the summer where I shot from the hip on protein and calories, drank and partied like a frat boy and basically did what I wanted and when...when I decided to dial it back I was peaking at 243ish and I cut…

Haven't done it yet but today is leg day...after work it's 5x 2-5 squats @ 315 ( mostly working on correcting my depth) Superset 2x30m farmers walks, a new PR attempt (258 per hand) 2xSled pushes @550 on the sled. I will "punish" myself if I fail to PR the walk by dropping the weight on the farmers to 225/hand and making…

Bipolar here. Biggest tip I can give that has helped me...my meds make my hunger absolutely ravenous about an hour after taking them, so I save around 800-1000 calories of my daily intake for that time.

You need to focus on the big, compound movements first...think bench, squat, deadlift, dips, pull-ups, standing overhead press. Once you have those down, then you can start adding accessory work. Eat to gain, follow a program, and apply the principles of progressive overload.
-
Just make sure you use good form. Crossfit is good when done right, but certain things like kipping pullups or high rep deadlifts/clean and presses in a circuit are a recipe for injury IMHO.

That's really cool that you get to see Hall. Of course the first man to ever lift 500 kilos is one of my idols. My next big DL goal is to pull 250kg at half of Eddie's BW when he did the WR...it feels like a such a tiny lift in comparison though. My biggest downfall on the cut is the night binging and weekend social life…

This *kitten* HAS to be a mental illness. An eating disorder paired with delusions of grandeur or something. What makes me legitimately angry is that there are people who have died trying this nonsense who probably just needed some counseling.
-
Thanks for all the replies, gave me some perspective. I know people change and grow, its just a damn shame when people who have been there your whole life seemingly have no interest in growing with you.

I wasn't saying that supplying food or favors was the basis of my friendships, it was just an example of what used to happen. I can't just say *kitten* em, and don't want to - these people are either family, or friends that have been in my life 10+ years at least. I don't want to just ditch them because my life has changed…

This is true, and I do make the effort to swing by and chat for a few minutes with each of them. But what used to be hours of hanging out is now me stopping through, talking for a few minutes, saying "do you want to go do ______?" which is almost always met with a "no I'm good", so I go do whatever ______ is either by…

I don't log my black coffee, my pre-workout, or my monster zero ultra. Its so minimal I can't be bothered anymore - I used to log all 3, and then one day i stopped and a few weeks in I realized it didn't affect my goals so I didn't after that

I've got different songs for different lifts but 3 of them are Heavy squats - Forever and Always, BMFV Max deadlift - Leica by The Faceless Heavy farmers walk - Dead End by In Flames Edit: I'm actually a little insane about these songs playing when I go for a new max. To the point where they are downloaded on my phone and…

I haven't personally logged it, but when you search dog treats a surprising amount of entries pop up. Makes me wonder
-
As the poster above me said, when doing near max some rounding is inevitable. Look at eddie halls world record 500kg, or any strongman comp deadlift for that matter - their backs aren't perfect. That said, you should aim to keep your back as straight as possible, always. Form is everything especially on a deadlift. Bad…

2 a days are fine provided the programming is proper. Don't just go and do random stuff, follow a program. A weightlifting program as one workout can be complimented with a cardio/conditioning workout as a second - and there can be some overlap. For instance, if you trained legs as the weightlifting workout, something like…

I've tried all but #3. #1 works well enough but doesn't stop the comments. With #2 you'd usually be better off explaining things to the dog for as much as people actually care to grasp it. #3. Will shut people up for sure, but it's going to cause lasting damage. If you tear someone's worldview apart with facts, research…

Honestly, the biggest thing to remember about building your own routines is Heavy compounds at the beginning, and accessory work at the end. Hypertrophy stuff wherever as long as it is after the heavy compounds. Cardio after lifts. Pretty simple. Another good method for building routines is to look at the "platform"…

Best thing you can get is a power rack, a dip bar attachment for the power rack (where the safety bars usually go), an adjustable bench, a barbell, and a plate set that totals at least 315, preferably more. That simple setup will allow for a good years progress on squats, Deadlifts, bench, incline press, seated and…

Weight in a pack = rucking, doesn't matter where. If you're gonna go above 30lbs if suggest a real ruck though, not a backpack. I did 45lbs today in a north face hiking backpack and I'm telling you that was a lot worse on the back and shoulder pads than a real military style ruck.

I'm dealing with similar in certain social circles. You have 3 choices, none of which are that great. Don't say anything because you know the real reason behind the comments is due to her insecurities, and just do you. Try to explain things. How you do eat, but you eat for a certain goal etc...this never goes as well as…

Mostly metal. All of it. Everything from Tech Death like The Faceless to metalcore like bmfv. I do certain things to certain music. Running or cycling, I love parkway drive and august burns red, the rhythm helps. Heavy Deadlifts are always to tech death. I'll do pop punk every once in a while but its usually at the…

Meh, not really insulting, just irritating. Might be some vieled insults from a couple of people, but whatever. I'm just gonna do me. People can say what they want - if what I do bothers them that's their problem not mine.
-
You know, might be a bit self centered but I didn't even think about women who lift weights. That's got to be a whole different set of BS comments to deal with. I happen to think Paige Hathaway is gorgeous and Annie Thorissdottr has the sexiest legs on the planet, but I'm well aware I'm in the minority there. I think fit &…

I squat and deadlift no shoes and am a big proponent of doing so.

In the spirit of not whining, I can agree with most of what you say. When I was at a concert and my friends wife said "you know they don't serve protien shakes here, I hope you brought your own", that was actually really damn funny. That's friendly ribbing and I'm ok with it. That said, there is a difference between…

It's kind of only been happening for 9 months. I did the whole fitness, lifting, and eating right thing for about 7 years straight, depression blah blah blah I took about 1.5 to 2 years off. I really just went back to what I always did. But I see your point.
-
Ok, some decent responses, we've established that I'm being a whiny little *kitten* lately, I'm going to stop now. I see I've brought some some stuff on myself by not exactly being private about myeal prepped thing. I still have 1 question though - why is it socially acceptable to comment on "healthier" choices or…

Damn. Way to call me out on being a little *kitten*. Did not really stop to think about it. I am being a a whiny *kitten* lately. Not sure what got into me. I'll stop now. 100% serious.
-
Kinda hard for them not to know what you eat when you share a kitchen and a fridge As far as rage reactions - the only the "pushing myself" thing prompted that. Probably the first time I've exploded like that in 9 months. More often than not I roll my eyes and don't say anything.
-
My weird daily routine of carrying prepped meals - I don't mind discussing it - I guess I can see how it is a bit strange. To me it's really not strange at all, it's just something that people with serious fitness goals often do. I was around it plenty in the military, and even though back then I mostly counted cals in my…
