I use the ninja creamie to make a fabulous, creamy sorbet out of nothing but a can of pineapple poured into the ninja tub and frozen before preparation. With a little reddiwhip and a few maraschino cherries, it’s really a satisfying dessert (for two). The dietician’s point was, I obvs like my sweets, and I’m very active…

So far it’s been mostly 100% fruit sorbets: banana/strawberry, strawberry/pineapple/banana. I made a couple with strawberries, lite coconut milk and plain greek yogurt but they lacked something (sweetness, lol). So the next batch I added a tablespoon of sugar and some coconut powder. Better. Next time I try sorbet I’ll try…

Thanks @avatiach That article was a lot more, erm, “digestible” than the others I saw. Still hanging in there with no sugar substitutes.

I absolutely get it. Post after post of “I can’t eat all my calories”, and saying they’ve lost a heap of weight in their first month. Not changing diet, not including exercise as part of their plan, relying solely on the shots. Not saying that’s any of you guys, but you know it’s happening. Half my bunco group is on it now…

A you please explain the “when I start eating regular” part? That’s confusing, concerning, or potentially both.

The best advice I ever got here: Treat maintenance like you still have five pounds to lose

You made me snort right out loud. Here ya go: https://a.co/d/3867YFK The 5-pound containers of Redenbacher are a great deal.

Hi @talpod2025 welcome to MFP. MFP doesn’t record steps in and of itself. It’s picking those steps up from an external tracker. I’m curious if it’s possible you’re carrying a phone (iPhone tracks steps) that’s recording steps to MFP as well as your tracker (I’m assuming you don’t have an iPhone/Apple Watch combo).

Use your watch to start/ stop activities. It does all the work for you. All you have to worry about is the weighing and logging part.
-
Just answered your question about Apple Watch. You don’t have to sweat it like this. Go to your watch and touch the little man: Then scroll down and select the type of workout you want to start: When you’re done, stop the workout in your watch. You’ll get a line item on your rings area that looks like this: If you want…

Welcome to MFP @scstrain You set it up on your phone. 1.) go to health app 2.) click the upper right corner for your profile info 3.) scroll to privacy and select apps 4.) choose MFP 5.) toggle to select all data. Scroll down to verify all have been turned green, including workouts, at the very very bottom This should set…

If popcorn is your thing, try a silicone microwave popcorn popper off Amazon. They’re only about $10-15, pop corn quickly with no oil, 99.5% of the kernels pop, and the popcorn has the nicest “corntest” taste, and you simply rinse it out. I’ve sworn by my hot air popper for years, but it can’t touch this thing. 49gr…

On the iOS app, you swipe left.

Double click the portion amount to type over it to adjust it. There should also be a dropdown box to convert from metric to imperial and vice versa. I find metric to be way more accurate and, even as a child of the 60’s who fought it for decades, now look for entries that defaults to metric as the initial option. I find…

Did you ever think that fate puts obstacles in your way to see if you can overcome? If it were win win win win, we wouldn’t appreciate it as much. Getting to 93 is as much a win as getting past it. Don’t ever let yourself discount that part of the win. Bear down on the NSV thread. I joke about having read every single…

My NSV today….:getting all excited over new gym possibilities. Who am I, and what did I do with old, fat, lazy, gave-up me? 😅😂😂

Our daughter and her partner just bought a new home. Me being me? I’ve “walked” the area via Apple Maps. No yoga studios (small town, looks like they all closed because of the pandemic) but she’s right across the street from the town SV, a sort of sporting club that is also the home for the town’s football (soccer) team.…

If you’re forwarding to include future days that aren’t logged yet, then of course those are affecting your averages. I generally log several days in advance. If I looked forward to include those days as well, then I’d have really wonky numbers because the food is already logged, but of course no exercise has happened yet.…

Brief hijack…. @dmkoenig every time I make zoodles they turn into a soupy mess. I’ve tried draining, pressing, salting, decanting them into paper towels. If there’s a trick, please share.

And as the Queen Sugar Freak who could’ve run circles around you amateurs, it’s still odd to hear that come out my mouth! It is, btw, Cadbury Crispy Egg season. I would knock down two or three large bags a day til they sold out. I promised myself I could still have one single (really, it’s like three) serving bag a year if…

It’s not that they lose their appeal so much as being healthier is more appealing.

I had a Taylor Farms Mediterranean Crunch salad last night, topped with diced, browned chicken I’d hit with a sprinkle of Lawry’s/ season salt. Half the bag + 7 ounces chicken was 428 calories, a ton of protein, and nutritious greens. And it was delicious.

Beware the tracked, aka Destroyer of Dreams. It drives a lot of people here bonkers because they don't understand that every day is NOT the same as today. You’ve obvs got more sense than that. I’ve found ground chicken works great in Italian dishes, especially lasagna. I mix a generous bit of Italian herbs or herbs de…

Just had the Taylor Farms Mediterranean Crunch salad with browned chicken on top. Half a bag + half the accompaniments +7 oz chicken was 428 calories. (I cut my chicken into small strips and brown it in a hot, dry pan with a little season salt. No oil.) It was delicious! Nutritious! And took all of five minutes to make.…

One of our neighbors owns a Hooters. When I first started working on losing, he catered a neighborhood pool party. I had four wings and thought I’d done great. Came home to log them and discovered the stupid things were hundred of calories each- four of them were over half my daily calorie goal. I just started bawling.…

First of all, asking random strangers to yay or nay you on something critical to your health is maybe not the best plan. This is a personal decision, in conjunction with your doctor. Second, the way you’ve worded it is that you plan to wait til you’ve lost “the majority” of the weight to move and start counting calories.…

It makes me so happy to see someone putting all the tools in place! Go, you!
-
I’m so happy for you. I absolutely love this post. I did my loss the “hard way”, too. I don’t know what I would have done had injections been available when I started in 2018. Knowing me, I would probably have jumped on them. I can’t judge others, but I know for me. Doing it this way was the best possible outcome. I’m…

Welcome Back @pamelaory Can I make a suggestion? Your words indicate the path you will follow. “Desperation” implies aiming for quick loss. I bet that’s what you tried last time, and gave up in frustration, hunger, anger, exhaustion. Take it slow this time. You have all the time in the world. If you “only” lose half a…

Bunco last night. Goddamnit why does there have to be bowls of chocolates on every *kitten* table????!!!!!! That’s why I don’t keep hardly any in the house. I can’t stop. And knowing it was bunco, I cut loose earlier in the day when I meant to bank calories after breakfast. Yep. Prelogged today and tomorrow and working on…
