Thank you! I feel like I just got a hug through the internet. :)

Yesterday I got in a walk of about 23 minutes with my dog. Our pace was around 3 mph. I haven't managed a walk that long since probably my 3rd or 4th chemo cycle. Now that I'm finished with that mess, my hopes are high for making a comeback in terms of amounts of exercise I can do.

My area is 18th-19th c. British. Novels mainly. Jane Austen especially. Are you working on a fantasy novel? That's exciting! Here's what I know about publishing: you can self-publish with Amazon, a kindle book kind of thing, and you'll make a higher percentage of the profits (around 40-50%) compared to the traditional book…

Worked in my office from 7 am until noon. I'm finalizing an article (on an 1820 Gothic novel ) that will come out in a journal in a few months. I'm a literature prof, in case anyone was curious. :) There's just no time during the week for this type of extracurricular activity. My lab came with me for company. The…

Being dragged out for a walk with DH and son right now . . . (15 min. later) So two short walks again today. Meals: cheese grits and a donut at work; 7 pieces sushi; one beef taco and extra lettuce; 2 Ghiradelli dark chocolate squares. 1800ish calories.

2 short walks for exercise. Meals: Cheese grits; grocery store sushi; homemade granola; spaghetti with meat sauce; one square of chocolate and three Brazil nuts.

Two short walks -- probably burned only 50 calories.

Today's calorie count was 1800ish, but that included a couple of cookies at a faculty meeting. My daughter convinced me to get a pizza on the way home ($6.99 one topping at Papa John's), so I had a small square slice of cheese pizza--not very hungry after the cookies, raw veggies and Ranch at said meeting.

And that makes one of us . . . wish they would fix the issue.

Oh, that makes sense. I've seen guys at my gym doing this lift (though maybe not with a metal brace) but didn't recognize the name.

I don't know a thing about fantasy football, but I do know how to make homemade bread. Delish! Also . . . this type of bread-baking spree got my weight up during the bad ol' covid lockdown days of 2020, so I've got to be careful. Exercise: two short walks outside. Food: oatmeal banana bites and tea; brown rice and Tasty…

Aww, don't give up, Anne! You and @springlering62 and @ninerbuff all make my day better any time I show up on MFP. I was off for a week while traveling in late June, came back for three days, then was off the rest of the summer (and boy did my weight creep up!) but I'm back now. Autumn means school's in session, everyone…

Exercise: 10 min walk with the dog. I have a pulled leg muscle that keeps acting up. Meals B: overnight oats with dates and chia; a scrambled egg; black tea with half and half L: a 220 calorie Green Goddess (bag) salad S: 2 slices homemade pizza snack: homemade chocolate cake with pureed sweet potato (you'd never guess)…

I saw Twisters with my daughters this summer (I see a movie every 2-3 months max). It was like they took the romance angle from the original Twister and friend-zoned everyone, but oh well.

Exercise: Two 15 min. walks; 5 min. stretching (need to do more) Meals: Dave's killer powerseed bread (toast) with marmalade and butter spread; sweet potato pancakes; honey mustard salmon, baked potato, and cole slaw.

I got in two 15 minutes walks today with my dog and DH. I told another MFP thread that I was feeling unmotivated, but hey, at least I'm here and posting.

As my teens would say, "REAL." I don't know you, but you had me at "favorite of the three cats." I'm so sorry! I also have three, and one is really old and on 4 different types of medicine. Like Sandy said, I've been off here too since late July. Sandy--I'm sorry to hear your son was in a crisis unit. I don't know your…

I gotta say, I love how this weight-lifting thread has taken a (brief) turn to cats and their markings. Reminds me of a joke that dog owners brag about their breeds: "He's a husky" while, when cat owners are asked about breed, they reply, "orange." My absolute fav pattern is the tuxedo cat (black and white), but I love our…

So I've been in Prince Edward Island for the past week for a conference. To sum up my "workouts": lots of walks on the cliffs and beaches and through forests. Food for the week: fish and chips probably 4X, one lobster supper, probably 4 different seafood chowders. And loads of French fries--all from potatoes grown on the…

Wow!! That's something I haven't seen before. Oh--and we have two cats (sisters/litter mates/whatever the cat parlance is) that look a lot like yours. Love it.

Maybe not a true workout, but I volunteered for 3 hours at the Ozark Valley Triathlon--the gravel bike race was today (18 miles), the road race tomorrow (Sprint and International distances). I did the Sprint two years ago and it just about kicked my rear end. By the time it ended today, temps were in the low 90s but with…

The North Shore near Cavendish, PEI, at sunset.

I'm back from a fabulous week on Prince Edward Island. I went for a conference but had plenty of time for long walks along the dunes and red sandstone cliffs. I'd go back in a heartbeat.
-
Lots of amazing beach walks here on Prince Edward Island.

Cardio: short walk with the dog and not much else. Really hot now--I'll go do a bit of gardening in a minute. Bought a couple of new flowering plants today for the front walk. Food: black tea with half and half, pumpkin overnight oats for b'fast; Starbucks ribbon crunch frappe for lunch (I know, I know); bean-potato…

Rest day. I'm a mom, though, so even sick I had a work meeting and then a trip to the mall with my kids (so fun--reminds me of high school weekends in the early 90s!). Meals: B: Gk yogurt and keto clusters; L: Chickfila nuggets and fries; S: hummus and veggies; a clementine and NO Snickers

Yesterday: 30 min. in the pool, then a 15 min. bike ride with my daughter. I think I forgot to log the biking, though. Today: 3 walks with my dog, for 25 min. total. The 7 am walk was perfect; by 9 am it felt hot out. I think we topped 90 degrees F for the first time this summer.

Hi Sandy, I've been silently following along on this thread for a few weeks now (not coincidentally, I've started lifting free weights on a regular basis but am a looong way from posting any GIFs), and your lifts have been so inspiring! They didn't seem showoff-y to me, or maybe it's along the lines of the old saying,…

Ugh, these last couple of days. I am really, really tired, and trying to make up for it by eating fun size Snickers bars is just not working out. I'm over-caffeinated as well. I'm fighting a sinus infection and now have added a chest cough. And the plan is to fly out to Prince Edward Island in a few days for a conference.…
